Rangers have signed winger Andreas Skov-Olsen from Wolfsburg on loan until the end of the season.
Sky Sports News understands the 26-year-old has turned down several offers in favor of a move to Ibrox, with his contract also including an option to make the move permanent.
The Denmark international’s summer transfer fee is thought to be around 10 million euros (about 860 million yen), having moved to the Bundesliga from Club Brugge for 12 million pounds in January last year.
Skov Olsen, who has 40 international caps, has been a target for Ibrox managers and is highly rated by head coach Danny Rolle.
The winger becomes Rangers’ third signing in January, following Sturm Graz midfielder Tochi Chukwani and Westerlo left-back Tuur Romans.
“I want to win a trophy with Rangers.”
Speaking after his move to Ibrox was confirmed, Skov Olsen said:
“When I finally heard I had the opportunity to come here, I didn’t doubt it for a second. I want to come here and help win trophies with the rest of the team, do my best and have a great time here.”
Rohr said: “I’m really excited to welcome Andreas to the club.
“He is a player who has proven himself at the top level and brings experience of playing under pressure both on the domestic and European stage.
“He showed his real quality in the final third of the pitch and arrived hungry for this challenge and excited about the opportunity in front of him.”
Skov Olsen’s journey to the Rangers
The winger started his career at FC Nordsjælland, scoring 20 goals in 41 games, playing alongside Rangers’ Oliver Antman.
He moved to Bologna in Serie A, making 70 appearances in three years before signing with Club Brugge in January 2022 and moving to Belgium.
In his first year in charge, Skov Olsen helped the club win the league title and scored the winning goal in the Belgian Super Cup.
Skov Olsen played a key role in helping the club retain the title the following year and contributed 12 goals in just 19 league games in the first half of last season, earning him a £12m transfer to Wolfsburg.
However, he started just eight league games in Germany over the past year and opted for a move to Ibrox after becoming excited about the club’s project.
