Anthropic is preparing for an IPO that could happen as early as 2026, FT reported.
The company has brought in law firm Wilson Sonsini to help kickstart the process, and the company is working on an internal checklist in preparation for what could be the biggest IPO in history.
The company is also reportedly looking to raise a funding round that could value it at more than $300 billion, and is in talks with investment banks, although it has not yet chosen an underwriter, the FT reported. Anthropic last announced a $13 billion raise in September, valuing the company at $183 billion. Wilson Sonsini has been an advisor to Anthropic since 2022.
The news comes amid reports that OpenAI, which has a market capitalization of $500 billion, is also testing and preparing for an IPO, but no listing date has been suggested, Reuters reported.
