Reuters — The World Health Organization on Sunday declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a “public health emergency of international concern” and posing a risk to neighboring countries. The WHO said that while the outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo strain of the virus does not meet the criteria for a pandemic emergency, countries that share land borders with the DRC are at high risk of further spread.
