Meta plans to potentially buy up to $100 billion worth of AMD chips, enough to power about 6 gigawatts of data center power needs, the companies announced Tuesday. As part of the multi-year agreement, AMD will issue performance-based warrants to Meta to acquire up to 160 million shares of AMD common stock (approximately 10% of the company’s stock) at a price of $0.01 per share, structured to vest based on certain milestones. The company announced Tuesday that its generative AI music tool ProducerAI will become part of Google Labs.
