The new Cadillac team unveiled its first F1 car livery in an ad during the Super Bowl, as the new American team made headlines during the nation’s biggest sporting event.
Cadillac’s debut color, first unveiled in a major advertising spot during the NFL’s championship show as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in California, was unveiled in a unique split arrangement that aligns with the 2026 grid, with one side of the car black and the other white.
A replica of the car was also unveiled at the same time in New York’s Times Square.
The team, backed by American car giant General Motors, will be the 11th team on the F1 grid and the first completely new entrant to the sport in 10 years.
The researchers say the dual-color design “uses asymmetry as an intentional design philosophy: a balance of yin and yang expressed through stark whites and blacks, where grit, determination, and performance meet aspiration, optimism, and ambition.”
“This livery is much more than just a paint scheme, it represents who we are and what we bring to F1,” said CEO Dan Twaris.
“Every detail is intentional: bold, modern, and unmistakably American, while honoring the tradition and precision that defines this sport.
“The choice to unveil our first race livery during the Super Bowl and in the heart of Times Square is a way to introduce our identity to the world at the intersection of performance, culture and entertainment and connect with our fans far beyond the paddock.”
Cadillac is temporarily running a dark livery and has already run the 2026 car in a shakedown at Silverstone last month, followed by a Ferrari-powered Challenger completing 164 laps during a three-day group test in Barcelona.
The team has signed the experienced race-winning duo of Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez for its initial driver line-up.
Team Principal Graham Loudon said: “We are extremely proud to be able to reveal the colors of our 2026 F1 Challenger.
“We are a team built on bold ambition and leadership in innovation and the values we demonstrate by tackling one of the most culturally significant sporting events in the world today in ways no previous F1 team has.”
Cadillac will return to the track in Bahrain this week, with its race livery being unveiled for the first time during filming at the Sakhir circuit on Monday before official testing begins with the rest of the grid on Wednesday.
