Goals from Nicholas Raskin, Mikey Moore and Jaydee Gassama helped Danny Rolle’s Rangers to a comfortable 3-0 win away at Dundee.

Ruskin opened the scoring before Moore scored his first goal for Rangers and Gassama rounded it off with a beautiful late finish.

Dundee scored two goals in the opening 15 minutes for Rangers, but despite a better second-half performance it proved too much for the home side, with Gassama’s goal giving Rangers their third win in the league under their new head coach.

Ethan Hamilton’s free-kick in the third minute resulted in Jack Butland’s only save of the first half, but it wasn’t long before Dundee succumbed to the visitors’ attacking prowess.

James Tavernier produced a wonderful corner kick that found an unmarked Ruskin who, nine minutes later, confidently slotted it into the top left corner of the goal. Moore then doubled his team’s lead just five minutes later with a deft finish into the bottom corner.

Mikey Moore fires a shot from the edge of the box to extend Rangers’ lead against Dundee.

Rangers, lined up with a back four for the first time under Roll, controlled the game from then on.

Moore scored the visitors’ third goal after Mohamed Diomande was ruled to have obstructed James McCracken’s vision in the Dundee net and was ruled out by VAR, but Dundee’s second shot on target came in the 64th minute, neither from open play.

Stephen Pressley’s side conceded the majority of possession as Rangers slowed the pace in the second half, but that didn’t stop Gassama from scoring late on. The winger’s beautiful curling shot found the top left corner and sealed a clear victory for Rangers.

Rangers won against Dundee with a late goal from Jaydee Gassama.

With this win, Rangers reduced the gap at the top of the table to 12 points. League leaders Hearts drew at home to Dundee United, while Dundee remain in 11th place and are at risk of relegation after 19 games without a win against the Gers.

Roll: Now you know how big this club is.

Rangers manager Danny Rohr was pleased with what he saw from his side’s resounding victory and the away support.

“At times we lost a little bit of control, but our last performance in the league was good,” he said.

“I think this is a good direction. We talked about small steps and now we are taking real steps.

“Things are going in the right direction and we can see things we need to improve on, but overall it was a good day.”

On player of the match Mikey Moore’s performance:

“I was really happy with Mikey today. His movement on and off the ball was great.”

Regarding the three changes made at halftime:

“2-0 is always a bit dangerous. We have to get the third goal. It was also important to have fresh legs at half-time.

“I’m going to use the squad to its full potential, which is also good for the players because they know they’re going to play even if they don’t start.

“Thank you to all the supporters, they were fantastic. The first three weeks were really fun. It showed us how big the club is and the potential we have.”

What will happen in the Scottish Premiership?
