Manchester City drew with Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, while Chelsea beat Sunderland in the fifth round before hosting League One side Port Vale.
City’s Premier League title rivals Arsenal will face Southampton, who are currently eighth in the Championship, while Leeds United will face the winners of Monday night’s draw between West Ham and Brentford.
The FA Cup quarter-finals will be played on the weekend of April 4th or 5th.
It was another favorable draw for Arsenal, who have won a record 14 times, with a chance to reach the FA Cup semi-finals without having to face a Premier League opponent.
The Gunners defeated Championship side Portsmouth in the third round and also defeated Mansfield and Wigan, both of League One.
On the other hand, City’s momentum continues as they beat Newcastle in the previous round and are currently trailing Premier League leaders Arsenal by seven points with one game in hand.
City are currently preparing to face Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League, but their draw with Liverpool could mean a daunting series of fixtures in April.
If successful, the Champions League quarter-final first leg would sit between the FA Cup quarter-final and Premier League match against Chelsea, with the second leg set to see City face off against potentially title-clinching hosts Arsenal.
Port Vale were giant killers, defeating Premier League side Sunderland 1-0 in the fifth round, and were rewarded with an even tougher match against Club World Cup champions Chelsea.
Vale, who sit at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table by eight points, are the lowest remaining team in the competition and have reached the quarter-finals for the first time since 1954.
