The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is executing a search warrant against the Fulton County, Georgia, election office in connection with the 2020 U.S. election, an agency spokesperson said.
An FBI spokesperson said agents were “conducting court-authorized law enforcement operations” at the county’s main elections office in Union City, just south of Atlanta. A spokesperson declined to provide further information, citing ongoing issues.

FBI agents were seen entering the Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center, according to Fox News, which first reported the raid on the new facility that state officials opened in 2023.
The official said the investigation concerns the 2020 election, which Republican President Donald Trump lost to Democratic former President Joe Biden.
The raids come as the FBI, under the direction of Director Kash Patel, moves quickly to pursue Trump’s political grievances, including working with the Justice Department to investigate several people seen as opponents of the commander-in-chief.
The Justice Department had no immediate comment.
look for votes
President Trump has long maintained that the 2020 election was stolen, even though judges across the country and his own attorney general have said they found no evidence of widespread fraud that would have tipped the race in Biden’s favor.
Representatives from Fulton County’s elections office referred inquiries to the county’s public relations office, but calls seeking comment were not immediately returned.
The Democratic-leaning county, based in Atlanta, supported Mr. Biden by a wide margin in the 2020 election and helped him win the state and the presidency.
Trump unsuccessfully tried to overturn the results, pressuring state election officials to “find” enough votes to claim victory.
Earlier this month, Trump asked state court for $6.2 million in legal fees he says he spent on a criminal election interference lawsuit filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
In August 2023, Willis obtained an indictment against Trump and 18 others, accusing them of participating in a widespread plot to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The case was dismissed in November after a court blocked Willis from pursuing him and his firm, citing “alleged misconduct” stemming from his romantic relationship with the prosecutor he appointed to lead the case.
