Google announced Tuesday that the more affordable Google AI Plus plan is now available in all markets where the AI plan is available. This includes the US, where it costs $7.99 per month.
Following its launch in dozens of global markets starting with Indonesia last September, this expansion brings the low-cost plan to 35 new countries and territories.
This plan includes access to Gemini apps Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro, AI filmmaking tools in Flow, research and writing assistance in NotebookLM, and more. It also offers 200 GB of storage and the ability to share plan benefits with up to 5 family members.
Existing Google One Premium 2TB subscribers will automatically gain access to all benefits of the Google AI Plus plan over the next few days, the company said.
Initially focused on emerging markets, the Google AI Plus plan is designed as a first step beyond free access to Gemini and other AI tools for those who don’t need or can’t afford the more expensive Google AI Pro plan, which typically costs $20 per month.
Pricing for the Plus plan varies by region, but the $8 per month price could introduce Google’s AI technology to a new, more casual audience here in the US. In other regions, plans tend to cost less than $5 per month. For example, users in India pay 399 ₹(4.44 USD) per month.
When the plan was first announced, Google explained that it was designed to provide emerging markets with more affordable access to Gemini, Veo, and other creative AI tools. It is also designed to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go plan. Plans cost $8 per month in the US and less in some emerging markets. These plans are intended to attract large numbers of online users who may become loyal AI customers over time and increase the number of AI deployments for companies.
