Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a two-run homer and Shane Bieber pitched in the sixth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 in Game 4 on Tuesday, tying the Major League Baseball World Series at two games apiece.

Andres Jimenez, Bo Bichette and Addison Berger each scored four runs in the seventh inning, helping the Blue Jays overcome the heartbreak of losing 18 innings in Game 3 and secure a spot in Friday’s Game 6 against Toronto.

Shohei Ohtani made his first career World Series start and pitched over six innings for the Dodgers, scoring four runs on six hits, one walk and six strikeouts. After reaching base nine innings in Game 3, he stepped up to the plate in Game 4 and went 0-for-3 with one walk and two strikeouts.

The Dodgers’ offense has scored three runs in the past 20 innings up to the eighth inning of Game 3.

Game 5 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Max Muncy scored on Enrique Hernandez’s sacrifice fly.

The Blue Jays took a 2-1 lead in the third inning when Guerrero hit a two-run homer to left-center against Ohtani. The long ball was Guerrero’s seventh of the postseason, but his first in the World Series, and he entered the Fall Classic without an RBI that night.

When Beaver struck out Ohtani with a foul tip in the third inning, Ohtani’s World Series record of 11 consecutive at-bats on base ended. Ohtani singled in the eighth inning of Game 2, reached base in all nine innings of Game 3 (including two doubles and two home runs), and walked in the first inning of Game 4.

Beaver (2-0) allowed four hits, one run, three walks, and three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Ohtani (2-1) came off the mound in the seventh inning after the Blue Jays opened the inning with a single by Dalton Bacho and a double by Ernie Clement.

Dodgers left-hander Anthony Banda took his place on the mound, and Jimenez hit a timely hit over the left field, making the game 3-1. Ty France hit a scoring grounder and Bichette and Berger added RBIs for a 6-1 lead.

Los Angeles got one back in the ninth inning on Tommy Edman’s scoring grounder.

Toronto played without leadoff man George Springer due to a right side injury in Game 3.
