House Democrats on Wednesday released new photos and videos from Jeffrey Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, revealing that two major banks have turned over records about the notorious sex offender.
Some of the images were shared by the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Justice in response to a request from the House Oversight Committee, the committee’s Democratic minority said in a press release.
They also received records from: JP Morgan Chase and deutsche bank It concerns Epstein, a wealthy and well-connected financier who committed suicide in prison in 2019 while facing federal sex trafficking charges.

Democrats said they plan to release the bank’s documents “within days” after their investigation.
A spokesperson for the Republican-controlled watchdog agency said in a statement that the committee “received approximately 5,000 documents in response to (Republican Chairman James Comer’s (Kentucky) subpoena)” along with the request to the Virgin Islands.
“The majority has reviewed these materials and will soon release them, just as the committee has already processed the more than 65,000 pages produced during this investigation,” the spokesperson said.

The development comes two weeks after President Donald Trump, a former friend of Epstein’s, signed a bipartisan bill ordering the Justice Department to release investigative files on registered sex offenders.
President Trump’s signature starts a 30-day timer for Attorney General Pam Bondi to publicly release unclassified files on Epstein and convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.
On Wednesday, a bipartisan group of five members of Congress asked Bondi for an explanation and status update on the Justice Department’s efforts to collect these files ahead of a looming deadline, NBC News reported.
Separately, top watchdog Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) called on the president to immediately release all of the government’s Epstein files.

“These new images are a disturbing glimpse into the world of Jeffrey Epstein and his island,” said Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the top ranking member of the House of Representatives, in a statement accompanying the committee’s latest disclosure.
“We are releasing these photos and videos to ensure public transparency in the investigation and help piece together the full picture of Epstein’s horrific crimes. We will not stop fighting until we bring justice to the survivors,” Garcia said.
“Now is the time for President Trump to release all files,” he added.
A spokesperson for the committee majority criticized the Democratic members’ move, saying, “It is strange that the Democratic Party would once again release carefully selected information as they have done in the past.”
Democrats previously released thousands of documents obtained through subpoenas to Epstein’s foundation, including emails showing Epstein discussing Trump.

Photos released Wednesday include shots of several partially furnished bedrooms and bathrooms.
In another shot, a dentist’s chair appears to be in a small room with a plastic mask of a man’s face plastered on the wall.
One photo shows a phone with a speed dial index.
Another photo shows a close-up of a blackboard on which various words appear to be scrawled, including “power,” “deception,” “politics,” “truth,” and “music.” Some words written on the blackboard were edited before publication.

A zoomed-out photo of the same room shows what appears to be an office, with an ornate wooden bookshelf, a large desk strewn with miscellaneous items, and four plush chairs with red velvet pillows placed across from each other.
The video includes a walkthrough of the outdoor portion of the island, including a large statue overlooking the swimming pool.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for acting as Epstein’s procurer of girls. She was questioned in July by top Justice Department official Todd Blanche, during which she said she was unaware of any wrongdoing by Trump.
About a week later, Maxwell was transferred to a minimum-security women’s prison in Texas.
In a letter filed Wednesday in federal court in Manhattan, Ms. Maxwell said through her lawyer that she intended to petition for her release, NBC and the New York Times reported.
