Caleb Williams threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore in overtime, and the Chicago Bears overcame a 10-point deficit late in the fourth quarter to beat the Green Bay Packers, who lost quarterback Jordan Love to a concussion, 22-16 on Saturday night.
The Bears (11-4) extended their lead over the Packers (9-5-1) to 1 1/2 games in the NFC North with two games remaining, avenging their loss at Lambeau Field two weeks ago. It was Chicago’s sixth win of the season, and its most incredible, after falling behind with two minutes left – Green Bay had a 99 percent chance of winning.
Chicago came close to reaching the postseason for the first time since 2020 with a rare win in the NFL’s oldest rivalry.
Counting into the playoffs, the Bears are 7-30 against Green Bay since 2008. If arch-rival Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers defeat the Detroit Lions on Sunday, the Bears will clinch a playoff spot.
Cairo Santos kicked a 43-yard field goal with 1:59 left to bring Chicago within 16-9. The Bears had no choice but to attempt an onside kick, which Josh Blackwell recovered.
The Bears tied it with 24 seconds left. Williams beat an all-out blitz on fourth down and lofted a pass to a wide-open Jahde Walker in the right corner of the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown. Coach Ben Johnson opted to have Santos kick the extra point to tie the game rather than go for the two-point conversion.
In overtime, with the Packers trailing 4-1 at Chicago’s 36, backup quarterback Malik Willis fumbled a snap. Chicago took over at its 36, and four plays later, Moore stole the winning TD from Williams with Keyshawn Nixon all over him, sparking wild celebrations. Two weeks ago, Nixon intercepted Williams in the end zone, clinching the Packers’ victory.

In Week 16 of the NFL game against the Green Bay Packers, DJ Moore of the Chicago Bears scored this touchdown to give his team the victory.
Already without star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who suffered a season-ending knee injury last week against Denver, the Packers had to do without Love, who took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Chicago’s Austin Booker in the second quarter. Love trotted to the medical tent and then to the locker room.
Williams completed 19 of 34 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Moore had 97 yards receiving while Roman Odunze missed his third straight game with a foot injury. The Bears have won six straight at home since losing the season opener to Minnesota.
Love had two field goal drives and completed 8 of 13 passes for 77 yards before being injured. In his previous five games against Chicago, he had nine touchdown passes and just two interceptions.
Washington Commanders 18-29 Philadelphia Eagles

The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders 29-18 on Saturday night to win their consecutive NFC East title.
Despite falling behind at halftime with a fumble on the opening kickoff, two penalties and three tries on a field goal from the left side, Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and others eventually started heading in the right direction.
A scuffle broke out late in the game after Barkley converted a two-point conversion to extend the Eagles’ lead to 19 points.
Two members of Washington’s defense – Javon Kinlaw and Quan Martin – and one Eagles player – offensive lineman Tyler Steen – were cautioned and disqualified for unnecessary rough conduct.

Three players were ejected after a brawl broke out during the NFL’s Week 16 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders.
There was a lot of pushing and shoving and a lot of jawing as the scrum spread out onto the grass. Six flags were thrown by officials as chaos continued.
Order was eventually restored, with Barkley, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner talking to each other.
Starting to play under center far more often than he did earlier in the season, Hurts completed 22 of 30 throws, 15 of which were caught by AJ Brown or DeVonta Smith, for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and no turnovers. He connected with Smith from 5 yards in the first half and tight end Dallas Goedert from 15 yards on a 17-play, 83-yard, 10-and-a-half-minute drive that put Philadelphia ahead 14-10 in the third quarter.
Hurts also did a lot of damage on the ground, gaining 40 yards on seven carries for the Eagles (10-5). The Eagles had won two in a row and lost three in a row. They are the first team to top the NFC East in consecutive seasons since Philadelphia won every year from 2001 to 2004. The hiatus since then is the longest drought in NFL history without a division champion.
Barkley added a 12-yard TD run for the Eagles, part of a 21-carry, 132-yard performance.
The Commanders (4-11) had already been eliminated from postseason contention after losing nine of their past 10 games, and the stands were filled with greenery.
There were frequent cries of “Eagles, Eagles!” and “Coo hoop!” In the third quarter, with Washington leading 10-7, when Marcus Mariota left the game with a right hand injury, Washington’s third-string quarterback, Josh Johnson, intercepted substitute Cooper DeJean.
Mariota started Saturday in place of current AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels, who led the Managers to the NFC title game last season, but lost 55-23 to Philadelphia, but was plagued by a series of injuries that limited him to seven games, and he is out of action in 2025.
The chilly night started off inauspicious for the Eagles. Will Shipley was hit by Mike Sainristil on the game’s opening kickoff and coughed up a cough, but Washington rallied to Philadelphia’s 27 points and eventually converted a field goal.
The Eagles went up 7-3 on almost all Hurts drives. He completed 4-of-5 passes for 53 yards and added a 14-yard run, including a 6-yard TD toss to Smith.
That’s not to say Hearts was perfect. It’s unlikely. He missed open receivers, including a particularly bad overthrow of Brown and miscommunication with Smith.
Eagles’ Jake Elliott successfully hit three field goal attempts to the left in the first half. Elliott made 17 of 22 field goals this season and never missed more than one in a game.
However, he failed to gain 43 yards in the first quarter. Then, 13 seconds before halftime, Elliott missed a 57-yard shot through the uprights, but the shot didn’t count because Washington’s Tyler Owens was flagged for offside. Given another chance, this time from 52 yards, Elliott again flew wide to the left.
