World number one Luke Littler fought back from the brink of defeat and spun off six legs to beat Gerwyn Price in a final-leg thriller to win the Premier League Darts Night Seven in Dublin.

After seeing off Stephen Bunting, Littler consolidated his place behind league leader Johnny Clayton after a crackerjack victory over Michael van Gerwen in the semi-final, before coming from a 5-0 deficit to beat Price.

The back-to-back world champions survived a total of eight match darts to seal victory in the Irish capital. Van Gerwen three times, Price five times. That included the Welshman’s usually reliable shot over the top as Littler waved to the crowd as he led 5-1, clearly accepting his fate.

“I have no idea how they did that,” Littler told Sky Sports. “I got the first leg and had a bit of fun. Then I got a 180 and Gaethje had scored the lead so I waved goodbye (to the crowd).”

“The rest is history. I was gone. When Gerwyn Price was at the top…he doesn’t usually miss.

“I definitely (thought I was gone). I might have been better off getting off the stage. This is darts. Things happen.”

He added: “Obviously I’ve been at the top for the last two years and I want to be at the top again.

“I’m happy that I’m second because of Johnny and his start, but now I’m right behind him and chasing him.”

After the come-from-behind win over Price, Littler waved to the crowd as the whistle blew during a post-game interview with Wayne Mardle and Emma Payton.

Wayne Mardle of Sky Sports:

“That doesn’t happen often with Gerwyn Price. It’s just one of those things.

“It’s a very volatile, very volatile little format and you can tell it was fun for Luke to win it.

“It’s not always about averaging 105 points, it’s about hurting things that shouldn’t have been won. He shouldn’t have won that. Gerwyn Price missed one chance after another.”

Littler survived three games of darts before defeating Van Gerwen 6-5 in a remarkable showdown in the semi-final.

“Mighty Mike” took a 5-3 lead with an impressive 170 finish, but the 19-year-old won the classic by pinning D5 on his first throw in the decider before reeling in “The Big Fish” to tie the score. This has definitely been the match of the year so far!

Price averaged 109 points, five 180s, and 6/9 in doubles, defeating Luke Humphries 6-1 and denying ‘Cool Hand’ a chance to claim his first win of 2026 as the reigning champion.

What will happen to the Premier League?

Despite suffering its first loss in the quarterfinals, Creighton maintains its lead in the league with a three-point lead over Littler.

The play-off race for the top two remains wide open, with just five points separating third and seventh place.

Van Veen retreats. Littler and Price advance to the semifinals. Clayton was hit.

Josh Locke didn’t feel well after his drubbing against Price

In the other quarter-final, Price whitewashed a dejected Josh Locke.

The Welshman, who won the 2025 Premier League with Dublin, averaged over 103.66 points and had a doubles success rate of 47 per cent in a typical win with just four doubles darts.

Humphries averaged 103.44 points and won 6-3, handing Creighton its first quarterfinal loss of the tournament with a 120 “Shanghai” finish.

However, ‘The Ferret’ will remain at the top of the Premier League heading into the eighth night in Berlin, only three points behind with Littler breathing down his neck.

What’s happening on the 8th night of the Premier League in Berlin?

Night eight of the BetMGM Premier League will take place in Berlin on Thursday, March 26th, with Littler taking on Bunting at the Mercedes-Benz Arena as he begins his bid for a third win of 2026.

League leaders Creighton face Lock in the opening game of the night, with Humphries and Van Gerwen also up against each other, while Price faces Van Veen for a place in the semi-finals.
