Daffodils bloom in the background of this year’s Christmas card photo from the Prince and Duchess of Wales.
Kensington Palace has released spring images of the royal couple and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to celebrate the Christmas season.
A family photo posted on social media on Thursday was captioned, “Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.”
This photo was taken in April by photographer Josh Sinner.
The couple commemorated George’s 12th birthday in July and Louis’ seventh birthday in April by publishing photos that appear to have been taken on the same day, and the boys appear to be wearing the same clothes.
They are both wearing checked shirts, with George wearing a fleece gilet on top and Louis wearing a V-neck sweater.
In contrast, the image released on May’s sister’s 10th birthday was taken by her mother, Catherine.
The Princess of Wales is a keen amateur photographer and regularly shares photos of her children on special occasions.
However, there have also been some instances where famous professional photographers have gotten behind the camera, such as Mario Testino, Chris Jackson, and Millie Pilkington.
Senior members of the British royal family traditionally publish copies of cards they send to family, friends and colleagues during the festive period.
Earlier this month, the King and Queen unveiled their official Christmas card featuring photos commemorating their 20th wedding anniversary, which they celebrated earlier this year.
The princess has gradually returned to royal duties since being diagnosed with cancer last year. In September 2024, she announced that she had finished chemotherapy and was “doing everything I can to remain cancer-free.”
Her husband Prince William told Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy that 2024 had been the “most difficult year” of his life, with both Kate and her father undergoing cancer treatment.
