Manager Steve Borthwick has named three uncapped players in his 36-man England Six Nations squad: Greg Ficilau, Vilikesa Serra and Emmanuel Iyogun.
Exeter No. 8 Fisilau, 22, has been praised for his form for the club, while 20-year-old Bath tighthead Serra is included along with Will Stewart (Achilles) and Asher Opoku-Forjour (shoulder) has been ruled out of the Championship.
Also included is Northampton Saints tighthead Trevor Davison, 33, who won his first Test cap in four years against the United States in the summer.
Davison’s club team-mate, loosehead prop Iyogun, 25, has been given an England chance, while Finn Baxter (calf) is currently out injured but is expected to return during the Six Nations.
Further injury concerns see a quartet of players named for rehabilitation purposes only – fly-half Finn Smith (calf), winger Tom Roebuck (toe), center Olly Lawrence (knee) and back-rower Ben Currie (hamstring).
Saracens’ 19-year-old winger Noah Kaluori, who scored five tries on his Prem rugby debut to force his way into England’s first team in November, will play for England’s Under-20s this Test window.
Other team additions since the autumn have included Gloucester lock Arthur Clarke, Sale loosehead Bevan Rodd, Northampton full-back George Firbank, Leicester scrum-half Jacques van Portvliet and Gloucester center Seb Atkinson.
Saracens lock Nick Isiekwe, Harlequins back-rower Jack Kenningham and Sale scrum-half Raffi Quirke are among those missing out.
Head coach Borthwick said: “We have selected a team with a good balance of experience, leadership and exciting potential.”
“The margins in the Six Nations are incredibly small, so our goal over the next few days is to come together quickly, prepare thoroughly and make sure we are ready to perform.
“If we prepare well and continue to demand the highest level from each other, we will be in the strongest possible position when the championship begins.”
