West Ham showed their survival skills to beat Wolves 4-0, dropping Tottenham into the relegation zone.
The result moves the Hammers ahead of Spurs in the Premier League table ahead of Roberto de Zerbi’s first game as manager against Sunderland on Sunday. This is the first time since January 2009 that the Spurs are in the bottom three after the first three games of the season.
It was another impressive performance from both sides of the box for West Ham, and he made a big splash when it mattered most.
Konstantinos Mavropanos headed home to take the lead in the first half, before Tati Castellanos scored twice within two minutes to seal the match. Even with Wolves on the ropes, West Ham continued to attack and it was Mavropanos who grabbed the second goal of the game.
Wolves have not won away from home in their last 18 Premier League games and are in jeopardy of 13 points, leaving them with just 18 points remaining.
A West Ham fan shouted “Going away with Tottenham” at the traveling Wolves fans on a perfect night for the hosts.
More to come…
