Max Dauman became the youngest scorer in Premier League history when he scored a stunning breakthrough goal in a late 2-0 win over Everton, giving Arsenal a 10-point lead.

After Victor Goqueres’ brilliant finale in the 89th minute, Jordan Pickford latched onto Everton’s corner kick and Dorman, 16 years and 73 days old, charged forward at half-time and rolled it into an empty net.

The historic goal, Arsenal’s first, sparked wild celebrations inside the Emirates Stadium and capped off a game-changing cameo by Dauman. Dauman’s cross was deflected away by Pickford and bounced into the path of Gokeres, producing the first goal.

Everton had previously held out despite being without first-choice centre-backs James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, with Dwight McNeil’s shot hitting the post in the first half.

However, Dorman’s introduction in the 74th minute gave Arsenal a vital victory ahead of second-placed Manchester City’s clash with West Ham, turning a tense match in Arsenal’s favor.

For long periods, Arsenal struggled to break down the visitors and it looked as if any chance to extend their lead outright would be overtaken, but their frustration was heightened when Kai Havertz was controversially denied a penalty after Michael Keane’s apparent trip.

Everton also had an attacking threat, with McNeil acrobatically blocking Ricardo Calafioli’s shot just before it hit the post, before Iliman Ndiaye was unable to convert the rebound. David Raya also made a save from Beto after half-time.

Arsenal had many chances to shoot, Eberechi Eze coming closest as he curled narrowly wide, and Pickford made several saves, but it was up to the history-making Dauman to change the course of the game, allowing Arsenal to take a big step towards the title.
