In the Women’s Super League, Arsenal defeated Leicester 4-1 with Stina Blackstenius scoring twice.

Blackstenius also provided the assist for the opening goal, when the striker deflected Beth Mead’s cross. The shot hit fellow forward Alessia Russo, but the shot went through the defender’s legs.

The Gunners continued to dominate and doubled their lead after the half-hour mark. This was an unlucky own goal as Sari Keith turned home Russo’s cross from the right.

Moments later, Braxstenius scored his first goal of the match as Arsenal were once again given too much space. Mead poured the ball in and scored a goal to an open Black Stenius in the middle, who easily turned it back.

Leicester improved after the break and had their first shot in the 5th minute. Noémie Mushon, who came on as a substitute at half-time, ran through but her shot was stopped by Daphne van Domselaar.

It was also the French forward who scored the comeback goal for Leicester in the closing stages. There was also a spectacular solo run from midfield to beating the goalkeeper.

However, Arsenal regained their three-goal cushion shortly after the restart. It was a nice chipped ball from Chloe Kelly down the right wing that picked up Blackstenius’ run.

She then fired home her second shot of the afternoon from a tight angle, capping off a fine performance for the Gunners.

Arsenal remain in fifth place, one point behind north London rivals Tottenham. There is a 3 point difference between the top three. Leicester remain in 10th place.

Highlights of the WSL match between Brighton and Manchester United.

Jess Park continued his scintillating form since joining Manchester United as the Red Devils survived a second-half comeback to claim all three points against Brighton.

Park has shown flashes of touch since arriving from City’s blue side, adding another goal and assist to his tally this season to ensure United close the gap at the top of the WSL.

After a shaky first 45 minutes, former Brighton striker Elizabeth Terlando controversially gave United the lead. The Seagulls defense was adamant that she was in an offside position after receiving the ball inside the penalty area, but replays showed that the last touch before reaching her belonged to Minami Moeka.

Manchester United’s Ella Toone and Jess Park highlighted how strong their link-up play was in the win over Brighton.

This goal gave United the confidence to go for a second goal, and Park was able to pull it off after some great collaboration with England team-mate Ella Toone.

Fran Kirby gave Brighton some hope with a goal, but those hopes appeared to be dashed when Park’s substitute, Lisa Naarsund, restored the visitors’ two-goal cushion.

Kiko Seike’s stoppage-time winner forced Marc Skinner’s side into a nervy final few minutes, but United were able to seal a vital victory.

But the biggest story remains Park himself, who admitted to Sky Sports that he can’t believe how much of an impact he’s had since joining from Manchester City.

“No (she couldn’t imagine the impact). I had high expectations, of course, and that’s because of the girls who welcomed me right away,” she said.

“The team has given me confidence. I feel valued. I really love playing with the girls.”

Everton hit a crucial point in their match against Villa with fatal accident

Highlights of the Women’s Super League match between Aston Villa and Everton.

Kerry Gago’s 94th-minute equalizer gave Everton a vital point as they drew 3-3 with Aston Villa at Villa Park.

It looked like the Toffees were going to suffer their fifth WSL defeat of the season, but the striker’s dramatic appearance broke the hearts of Villa fans.

Gago also gave Everton an early lead and repeatedly punished Villa for sloppy possession at the back, before finally succumbing to pressure from the visitors.

However, the goal seemed to calm the hosts and by the hour mark they were in the lead. Georgia Mallett scored her second goal of the game before the interval, putting Villa ahead with Kirsty Hanson, who rounded the onrushing Emily Ramsey.

However, Everton turned things around and substitute Hikaru Kitagawa equalized shortly after coming on, before a comical error from Ruby Mace gave Villa the advantage once again.

The deep cross looked like it was going to go straight into Ramsey’s arms, but Mace tried to clear the volley at head height, only for it to go into the net.

But her blushes were saved by Gago’s late equalizer, meaning Everton remain two points behind Villa in the WSL table.

Highlights of the Women’s Super League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Liverpool lost to Tottenham 2-1, leaving them with zero points in this season’s WSL.

The Reds took the lead within 11 minutes. Beata Olsson curled home from close range after the ball flew to her feet.

However, immediately after that, the in-form Spurs tied the score. Tomoko Koga scored her first goal for the club, hitting a cross from the right side into the roof of the net from close range.

Seven minutes after half-time, Tottenham took the lead for the first time with a goal from Bethany England. Amanda Nilden met the Spurs captain with the ball and smashed it into the goal into acres of space.

However, the match ended late as Mia Enderby hit her head on the floor after a scuffle with Nilden. After 15 minutes of treatment in the field, she was taken away on a stretcher with a neck brace.

Spurs played the rest of the match without incident and remained one point ahead of Arsenal. Liverpool remain at the bottom of the table on goal difference, with only two points separating them from the top three.
