The NFL season is at the halfway point on the road to Super Bowl LX, to be held in Santa Clara, California.

Sky Sports NFL experts Jason Bell and Phoebe Scheckter reveal some of the mid-season awards, from MVP to Rookie of the Year…

Coach of the Year

Jason Bell – Shane Steichen, Indianapolis Colts

“I don’t like what we saw against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but obviously this offense was phenomenal. When Daniel Jones plays the way he’s been playing, you have to look at Shane Steichen and what he’s done.”

Phoebe Scheckter – Shane Steichen, Indianapolis Colts

“We both said Shane Steichen. I mean, just being able to take this team to 7-1 and now 7-2. It was phenomenal.”

Sky Sports’ J-Bell explains why the Indianapolis Colts’ offense is one of the best in the league.

MVP

Jason Bell – Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

“He’s explosive on the field and he’s making it happen. The receiving core is back and it’s interesting. This is MVP.”

Phoebe Scheckter – Drake Maye, QB, New England Patriots

“I thought Patrick Mahomes, too, because he’s phenomenal, you know? But Drake Maye, he’s as good as anybody, and what he can do gives life to the Patriots. I also feel like Mike Vrabel could be in the head coach of the year discussions with Mike McDonald, maybe in Seattle. But I think Drake Maye is going to be reluctant this year.”

Offensive Player of the Year

Jason Bell – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

“He could be the MVP, but you know the MVP is always chosen by the quarterback, right? So you get that first spot and you get a bye to the playoffs, so I had to go with him to choose Offensive Player of the Year.”

Phoebe Scheckter – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

“This is a copycat league. You have to copy your players here. I went with Jonathan Taylor because of what he’s been able to do. He’s given life to these Colts again. So when you talk about the head coach, the best coach, you know, usually you have the best players. So those two go hand in hand.”

Indianapolis continued to dominate Tennessee, led by Jonathan Taylor’s incredible 80-yard touchdown.

Defensive Player of the Year

Jason Bell – Micah Parsons, EDGE, Green Bay Packers

“Myles Garrett has ball power and is phenomenal. I can see why Phoebe came with him. I picked Micah Parsons because when you get that trade, how is he going to disrupt everything? And if this team is going to make the playoffs and be successful, it’s going to be because of his performance. He’s the guy on the field.”

Phoebe Scheckter – Myles Garrett, EDGE, Cleveland Browns

“Myles Garrett comes into the season and says, ‘I have a goal.’ He knows he’s not on a good team, but he has a goal for himself. He wants to be the all-time leader in sacks, and he’s on his way to doing that. He wants to be Defensive Player of the Year again. I love a guy who finds a way to win every week. When you’re on a bad team, you’re like, ‘Guys, how many first downs can we get?'” Do you know today? And I feel like that’s what’s happening with Myles Garrett. ”

Sky Sports NFL’s Neil Reynolds, Jason Bell and Phoebe Scheckter discuss their most impressive NFL rookies of the 2025 season so far

Rookie of the Year

Jason Bell – Tyler Warren, TE, Indianapolis Colts

“He was phenomenal. Not only catching the ball, but running blocking. Being a tight end, being able to handle defensive ends and go out there and catch the ball. This guy was phenomenal.”

Phoebe Scheckter – Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

“Egbuka emerged as one of Baker Mayfield’s most reliable targets and immediately made an impact in the NFL. He already had 34 catches, 562 yards and five touchdowns in his first year, and was a major part of why Baker became an MVP candidate.”
