Nottingham Forest lodge complaint with PGMOL over Everton defender James Tarkowski’s off-the-ball collision | Soccer News

Nottingham Forest bosses are furious that no action was taken against James Tarkowski after he collided with Dan Doe off the ball in Saturday’s Premier League match.

Officials believe that Tarkowski’s shoulder barge on the Swiss winger 11 minutes into the match amounted to an act of violence.

Ndoye was pushed from behind and fell to the ground.

The incident was not witnessed by on-field referee Chris Kavanagh, and VAR James Bell did not intervene as he did not think a red card was warranted. Premier League rules state that VAR cannot be involved if it deems a challenge worthy of a yellow card.

Forest officials believe the outcome could have been different had Tarkowski been sent off that early, when the score was still 1-0.

In the end, Tierno Barry scored his first ever goal for Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, helping the team defeat Forest 3-0, taking the Toffees to fifth place in the Premier League with their fourth win in five games.

“On any other day, I’d be surprised Big Turkey got away with that, but he did it,” said Sean Dyche after the game. “It’s not even a yellow card. If you look at it, it’s not something to be shoved around. Now players can get a yellow or a red just for head-to-hand contact, but it’s not just that.”
