Jan van Veen has been diagnosed with kidney stones and will miss the Premier League Night 7 in Dublin.

The Dutch number one was due to face Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals on Thursday night, but the latter was given a walkover to advance to the semi-finals.

Van Gerwen also gained two league points and a +1 leg difference, while Van Veen took no points with a -6 leg difference.

Van Veen is currently in fourth place after six nights with three runner-up finishes, but has been ruled out due to being hospitalized.

Jan van Veen hits an incredible nine darter in the Polish Darts Open final against Luke Littler.

Jonny Clayton arrives in Dublin eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table and looking for a third successive win following successes in Glasgow and Nottingham.

Van Veen is one of three players on nine points, along with Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries, in a tight race on final night, with Van Gerwen leading the group with eight points.

The 23-year-old is a two-time World Youth Champion and is in the middle of his debut season in the Premier League after reaching the final of the World Darts Championship, where he lost to back-to-back champion Luke Littler.

He made a name for himself last year by defeating Humphries in the European Championship final to win his first ranked title.
