Randal Kolo Muani: Tottenham forward ‘okay’ after ‘minor accident’ ahead of match against Eintracht Frankfurt Soccer News

Tottenham forward Randal Kolo Muani was involved in a “minor” car accident on Tuesday, but head coach Thomas Frank says he is “fine” and will play in Wednesday’s Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kolo Muani took part in public training at the club’s Hotspur Way facility in Enfield, but a photo of on-loan attacker and teammate Wilson Odbert standing next to a damaged black Ferrari went viral on social media.

It is understood that both players were traveling in separate cars and it was Kolo Muani’s car that suffered a flat tire. Odbert was following his teammate in his car and stopped his car out of concern.

The pair did not travel with the team but are scheduled to depart on Tuesday night and Frank is “fully hopeful” that both will be available for the game in Germany.

“Both Kolo Muani and Wilson Odbert are doing well,” Frank said at the pre-match press conference.

“Everyone involved in that accident is safe.

“They’re a little delayed due to a flat tire, but they’re scheduled to land later tonight.”

He added: “They’re fine. They were on their way to the airport.”

Asked if he was in the right mental state to play on Wednesday, the Dane replied: “Yes. “That’s my absolute understanding of everything.

“I haven’t spoken to them personally yet because the first message was that they were fine.

“They will leave later, and I fully expect both to be available tomorrow.”

Polo out for 4 weeks | Van de Ven to miss match against Frankfurt

Frank has suffered a further injury ahead of Wednesday’s game against Frankfurt, with defenders Pedro Polo and Micky van de Ven the latest to be sidelined.

Polo will be out for four weeks with a hamstring injury, but Frank had hoped Van Deven would be back for Sunday’s Premier League home game against Manchester City, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Spurs are currently without 14 players for their final Champions League game, with victory over Frankfurt guaranteeing them a top-eight finish and a direct place into the last 16.

Frank revealed: “Pedro is not traveling. Unfortunately he has injured his hamstring and will be out for four weeks.”

“Mickey hasn’t traveled. It’s a minor thing. There’s a chance he could be available at the weekend (against Manchester City).”

Frank then clarified that Van de Ven’s “minor” problem was not hamstring-related, after the Dutch international suffered a similar injury during the 2024/25 season.

Frank: A lot of things are going in the right direction behind the scenes.

Frank insisted that “a lot of things” are going in the right direction behind the scenes at Tottenham.

It’s deja vu, given that Spurs have struggled domestically this season but excelled in Europe, and last week’s victory over Borussia Dortmund was a much-needed boost for Frank as the fanbase pays close attention to the Danish manager.

After Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Burnley, which prompted further calls for him to be sacked in the morning, Tottenham now have two wins in 14 league games, leaving them just eight points behind 18th-placed West Ham.

However, Frank’s current focus is on the Champions League, adding: “We have a great chance of securing a top-eight position and that would be a very good result and a very positive achievement.”

“Be very positive. We’re looking forward to it. That’s what we’re focused on doing is everything we can do.”

“The other thing is, I think the performances we’ve had for a while have been good in a lot of ways, but we just haven’t built the right team enough to get the three points.”

“We’re working hard for it. Sometimes we get stuck in it and the players are giving it their all, but for me tomorrow is all about the chance.”

“Again, it’s my job to look at the bigger picture a little bit more. Even if we don’t win as much as we would like, there’s a very, very small thing that needs to go our way and we need to continue to do the right thing by a small margin.”

“Sometimes you’re doing little things and you don’t get results and then the whole thing turns into a disaster, but there’s actually a lot of things going in the right direction behind the scenes.”
