Tiger Woods announced live on Sky Sports that he will return to action on the final night of the TGL season on Tuesday.
Woods served in a non-playing role at Jupiter Links GC throughout the 2026 season, hasn’t appeared on the PGA Tour since July 2024, and underwent back surgery last October.
The 50-year-old said earlier this year that he wanted to be fit enough to play in the TGL season, but missed the semi-finals against Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common, which he won on March 17, and the first leg of the SoFi Cup final on Monday.
Los Angeles Golf Club won 6-5, improving to 1-0 for the third straight game, and Woods replaced Kevin Kisner in the lineup at Jupiter Links for Tuesday’s season finale at SoFi Center.
Woods, Max Homa and Tom Kim will face Los Angeles trio Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Saheth Segala, but Jupiter Lynx will need to win the second game (11pm BST) to tie the series and move into the season decider.
A win for Los Angeles would give them a commanding 2-0 advantage, but a win for the Jupiter Lynx would mean Game 3 would be played later that night (1am BST on Wednesday).
“As a team, we came together in this game and we all worked together. It was a close game,” Woods said after Monday’s loss. “We had a chance, they had a chance. They could have turned it over on the back nine, but it wasn’t until the last hole.
“We made the playoffs once and we were so close to it. Unfortunately we didn’t make it, but we probably have two more games to go. We’re not out of this yet. Even if we lose, we’re still not out of it.”
How Tiger’s team lost in the opening game of the finals
Kisner missed a 6-foot birdie putt on the first hole of the triple, a 3-on-3 alternating shot format, giving Jupiter Links a chance to take an early lead before Los Angeles got a birdie on the par-5 second.
Segala hit the penalty area with his tee shot and then missed a 3-footer on the par-3 sixth for bogey, but Fleetwood hit a lip from a similar distance on the next hole to give Jupiter Links a 2-1 lead.
Rose fought back with a 35-foot chip-in on the 8th to tie the score, but Los Angeles denied the hammer on the 9th, doubling the value of the hole and regaining a narrow advantage on Woods’ side heading into the singles.
Los Angeles increased its lead to 4-3 when Rose won the 10th hole and Jupiter Lynx denied the hammer on the next hole, but Kisner tied it on the 12th hole with a shot by Segala into the penalty area.
Homa took advantage of Rose’s miss on the birdie putt to make his own birdie putt on the 13th, and Kim and Fleetwood traded birdies on the 14th to take the Jupiter Links lead by one.
Los Angeles doubled the value of the hole with a hammer throw, and although Kisner missed the chip-in, Segala grabbed the win with a two-putt birdie and took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
“I feel like I got one shot today,” Fleetwood said. “They’re a good team. They’re a tough team. I give their unit a lot of credit.
“It was a very close game tonight. It could have gone either way. We could easily have been here with a one-game lead. We won twice, but we have to focus on tomorrow (Tuesday).”
