Tottenham are in a predicament. The disastrous defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League has put pressure on Igor Tudor.

Despite suffering a disastrous run of four defeats under Tudor, Spurs have confirmed he will take part in a press conference to preview Sunday’s game at Liverpool, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Sky Sports News answers the key questions amid Tottenham’s crisis…

Jamie O’Hara believes Igor Tudor is ‘not the answer’ to Spurs revival, suggests who he thinks will do a better job

What is the atmosphere like inside Tottenham’s training ground?

Gary Cotterill on Sky Sports News:

Frankly, the atmosphere here is incredible, certainly among the fans who drive by and comment and ask me what’s going on, and the fans who come here to see what’s going on.

CEO Vinay Venkatesham was seen arriving here bright and early Wednesday morning.

That was because coach Igor Tudor was staying in a hotel on the training ground, and there was a meeting even though the players weren’t there, and I thought that the era of coach Igor Tudor might be over. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge reports from the Spanish capital as pressure continues to mount on Tottenham Hotspur head coach Igor Tudor following a “heartbreaking defeat” to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Who will make the decision if Tudor is removed?

Lyall Thomas on Sky Sports News:

So the process that took place when Thomas Frank was sacked was that a group of Tottenham’s senior executives, including CEO Vinay Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange, recommended to the owners and board that it was time to make a change.

The process will certainly be followed again, but owners Vivian and Charles Lewis will have the final say on whether or not there should be a change in head coach.

And there’s also another interesting name in there that Spurs fans may have never heard of before, and that’s Nick Boucher.

He is Vivian Lewis’ son-in-law and is said to be increasingly influential in important decisions there. Therefore, he would also have a say.

Igor Tudor criticizes Spurs’ decision to start Antonin Kinski in their 5-2 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid

Why did Spurs decide to hire Igor Tudor in the first place?

Paul Merson says he would have brought in club legend Robbie Keane as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur rather than current manager Igor Tudor.

Michael Bridge on Sky Sports News:

The role was given to Igor Tudor, who was known for putting out fires, but after a harrowing night in Europe, he lit more fires at Tottenham.

The match was supposed to be a free blow, but it caused further damage and misery, and both the players and the club are now at rock bottom.

He was the recommendation of Fabio Paratici, who is no longer at the football club.

Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports News:

I don’t really know anyone in football who thought he was the right person for the job. When Tottenham decided to sack Thomas Frank, all they had to do was bring in someone with experience of English football. Now, Igor Tudor, he was a good player.

As a manager he’s had a pretty good record, but there’s nothing on his record to suggest he’s the right man for the job, either in the short or long term.

Let’s take a look at other Premier League clubs that have changed managers this season. They all wanted someone with experience of playing and managing in the Premier League. I don’t understand why Tottenham bought Igor Tudor.

It can’t get any worse than this, right?

Gary Cotterill on Sky Sports News:

The appointment of Igor Tudor as Tottenham Hotspur’s newest head coach was announced by Spurs on February 14th, but we first learned that he is set to take over on Friday, February 13th.

Yes, it’s Friday the 13th. And frankly, his nearly four-week tenure was a curse. His four games, four losses and 14 goals conceded were Tottenham Hotspur’s worst record ever as a manager.

I think the situation could get even worse. They will be eliminated from the Champions League, there is little doubt about that.

They play away to Liverpool at the weekend, then face Nottingham Forest with a six-point lead. With time running out, they could end up knocking the national team out of the Champions League, where they are in the relegation zone.

The Football Task Force discusses Tottenham Hotspur’s humiliating 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid and whether Antonin Kinski should have started the match.

Who should the Spurs look to next?

Michael Bridge on Sky Sports News:

The Spurs must decide now whether to roll the dice one more time before the end of the season. Only this time, the choices are even fewer than before.

Does a manager really want to step in and look after a team whose confidence is at an all-time low? Does the manager really want to be the manager who takes a club of Tottenham Hotspur’s size to the Championship?

I think I’m considering slim choices now. But nevertheless, time is running out and a decision must be made quickly.

Tudor becomes the second Spurs manager to say he has been involved in situations like this before, after Antonio Conte in 2023.

Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports News:

Tottenham are in a desperate situation. The most important thing is that they remain in the Premier League.

To do that, we need someone who knows the league and the club inside out. If I were Tottenham chief executive I would call Tim Sherwood and Robbie Keane.

That’s who they need. I think both have what it takes to give Tottenham a chance to stay.
