1 win each – get bragging rights on Merseyside
Everton vs Liverpool – Saturday, 12pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports
Liverpool will be happy to open up a five-point cushion over the relegation zone, where they have spent most of the season so far. There are still five games left, but the Reds appear to have opened up a big enough gap to secure WSL status.
Everton have also improved under caretaker manager Scott Phelan, who has won three of his first four WSL games and could become the first manager to lead the Toffees to four wins in their opening five WSL games.
Goodison Park hasn’t exactly been a happy home for Everton this season, having won their last two WSL matches, but they will be looking forward to the ultimate showdown with Liverpool this weekend.
The Toffees were beaten 4-1 at Anfield on the opening day of the season, but Liverpool had won 2-1 in the FA Cup fifth round a few weeks earlier.
So the bragging rights are well within reach, as well as the three points that will definitely confirm Liverpool as a WSL team next season.

Who can stop Manchester City?
Man United v Man City – Saturday, 1.30pm kick-off
Man City are eight points clear at the top of the WSL and there will be no stopping Man City from their relentless pursuit of their first league title in 10 years.
But Manchester United will be hoping to get some results on Saturday to delay that, if only for local bragging rights, if only for a short period of time.
It will be their second consecutive game at Old Trafford after they faced Bayern Munich on the ground in the Champions League on Wednesday night, but Man City have been reeling from their recent away appearances.
They have lost one and drawn one in their last two away games in the WSL, but have failed to score in either. Man City went three consecutive away wins when they lost their last three games of the 2022/23 season and have never failed to score in three consecutive WSL games.
It’s hard to see them doing that again this weekend, especially considering their 5-2 win over Tottenham on Saturday marked the fifth time they’ve scored five or more goals in a WSL match this season, and they had an extra day of rest ahead of the Manchester derby.
These matches always add a new dimension and Man United will need to summon all of their derby spirit to protect Man City from another WSL victory.

Do you take little rest or is it too dangerous?
Arsenal vs Tottenham – Saturday, 5.30pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports
Kim Little is an Arsenal legend and will be staying for a little longer. The Scot is an integral part of this Gunners team and that is recognized in her new contract.
At 35 years old, her hard-working personality defies logic. She is the only WSL player to average more than 90% passing accuracy and more than 7 ball recoveries per match. She is the team’s metronome on and off the ball.
But given the importance of the coming weeks, will Arsenal need to manage her minutes? The Gunners still have work to do to qualify for next season’s Champions League, but they also have a chance to build on last season’s triumph by defeating Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the same competition next week.
A two-goal lead against Chelsea is not enough given the monster mentality of the Blues team. So, although she is a metronome, is this North London derby a good opportunity for Little to rest and recharge? Or is that too much of a risk considering her importance?

Chelsea need a big boost against Aston Villa
Chelsea vs Aston Villa – Sunday, 12pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports
Sunday’s match against Aston Villa comes at a key moment in Chelsea’s season.
They are in the middle of two games against Arsenal in the Champions League, but lost 3-1 in the first leg on Tuesday. And after last weekend’s 1-1 draw with London City, they have fallen down the table in the race to compete in Europe next season.
The Blues need big performances and big results on their return to Kingsmeadow not only to boost their confidence heading into Wednesday’s second leg, but also to keep pace with the teams around them in the top four.
The remaining games will be played on Saturday and Chelsea could be out of Europe by the end of the night.
It’s not going to be easy for Aston Villa, but they’ve been enjoying their away games lately. Under coach Natalia Arroyo, the Reds have won more points on the road (20 points) than at home (15 points) and have conceded just one goal in their last two away games.
But in the end, these are the games that Chelsea should win, we expect to win and it is vital that we achieve that this weekend.

Is there a possibility that the relegation battle will be decided by goal difference?
West Ham vs London City Lionesses – Sunday, 12pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports
The last time these two sides met, London City Lionesses won 1-0 thanks to a roar from goalkeeper Kinga Shemik. This result confirms that West Ham are candidates for relegation and London City are not.
West Ham were unbeaten at the time but are now in a slightly better position. Rita Guarino has steadied the ship somewhat, but their position remains precarious.
This year, the relegation battle will be decided based on goal difference, with the lowest teams going through a relegation play-off. Leicester and West Ham are tied at -26 and -25 respectively, with three points separating the teams.
West Ham’s 5-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out spoke to the need not just to pick up points, but to lose “properly” if we lose. The last time the Hammers lost by that margin was against Chelsea in January, which sparked a mini-resurgence in terms of wins and points.
Guarino will be hoping for history to repeat itself rather than a come-from-behind game against London City.

Leicester look to right their mistakes against Brighton
Leicester v Brighton – Sunday, 12pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports
Leicester will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa when they face Brighton, with a relegation play-off looming.
The Foxes currently sit bottom of the WSL, three points behind West Ham with five games in hand, and could face either Birmingham City, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United or Bristol City in the play-offs.
In their last five games, Rick Passmoor’s side have conceded 14 goals while scoring just two goals.
This follows a more worrying trend for the Foxes, who have only scored a league-low nine goals this season and conceded 35.
Leicester will be hoping to right some wrongs since the Foxes last played Brighton in November. They lost 4-1 in that game, with Shannon O’Brien scoring the winning goal that day.
A win could be crucial for both teams as Brighton move up to eighth place with one point ahead of Villa, while a win of one or more would see Leicester move ahead of West Ham and move them down the table.
