Sunrisers Leeds Women and MI London Men will begin their Hundred title defense on the first day of the 2026 tournament at Kier Oval on Tuesday 21st July.
Sunrisers, known as Northern Superchargers before being taken over by IPL owners, will take on MI London Women in an afternoon match starting at 2.45pm as the sixth season of the ECB’s 100-ball competition begins.
Then, from 6.30pm, MI London Men will begin their battle for a fourth consecutive title against Sunrisers Men, who scored a hat-trick in 2025 under their former Oval Invincibles name.
The name change of MI London was also carried out following investment from IPL owners, with the Mumbai Indians leadership buying a 49% stake in the Oval side.
All matches in the men’s and women’s competitions, including the Eliminator on Friday 14th August and the final on Sunday 16th August, will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with the women’s matches being seen ahead of the men’s matches at the same venue each day.
The men’s and women’s teams that take first place in the league match will directly qualify for the finals, and a second and third eliminator will be held to determine the opponent of the top team.
Each team will play eight group games, once against six teams and twice against local rivals.
MI London will play London Spirit twice, while other home and away matches will be Sunrisers vs. Manchester Super Giants, Trent Rockets vs. Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave vs. Welsh Fire.
The First Hundred Auction will be held on March 11th and 12th.
The Hundred will hold its first player auction on March 11th and 12th.
Previously, players acquired through direct contracts were not retained or acquired because they were not acquired during the draft system, but significant foreign private investment across eight franchises is changing the player acquisition process.
Auctions are also seen in other franchise tournaments, especially in the IPL.
Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Adil Rashid, James Anderson, Amy Jones, Issy Wong and Sarah Glen are among the high-profile players who are not yet signed or retained by the team.
Each team can sign up to four players through retention or new direct contracts before the auction, with all men’s teams and half of women’s teams reaching that number.

Who are the players already signed for the 2026 Hundred season?
Big names such as Jacob Bethel (Birmingham Phoenix), Jos Buttler (Manchester Super Giants) and Nat Silver-Brunt (Trent Rockets) remained, but three new players were added: Mitchell Marsh (Sunrisers Leeds), Alice Capsey (Birmingham Phoenix) and Smriti Mandhana (Manchester Super Giants).
With Manchester Super Giants Women, MI London Women, Sunrisers Leeds Women and Wales Fire Women only having three players signed, £310,000 will be deducted from their total £880,000 salary pot, leaving them with even more money to play for at auction.
The other four women’s teams – Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Southern Brave and Trent Rockets – were deducted £360,000 after signing or staying four times.
Each men’s team had £950,000 reduced from their total £2.05m salary pot after making all four player signings allowed during the pre-auction period.
Hundreds of franchises are now able to sign four overseas players instead of three.
Three teams have changed their names following the new investment, with Manchester Super Giants (formerly Manchester Originals) joining Sunrisers and MI London in using different names.
