Record-breaking Dow Jones Industrial Average closing price sets new all-time high. It closed today at 47,928. Intraday high: 48,040. The Dow has gained 12.65% this year, outpacing the NYSE Composite’s 13.7% gain, the S&P 500’s 16.4% gain, and both the Nasdaq and Nasdaq 100 gains of 21.5%. Caterpillar was the Dow’s best-performing stock this year, rising 57%. Nvidia was next with a 44% increase. IBM followed with a 43% increase. At the bottom was Nike, down 17%. Salesforce, down 27%. Cramerica AI Stock: “Slow Down” “Mad Money” Jim Cramer made a bold statement on Tuesday night, casting doubt on the operation of AI. He cited several reasons for making the big decision. First of all, there is too much spending by AI companies. He thinks it’s too much, too fast. Second, the debt burden is increasing. When these companies start taking on too much debt, they become more vulnerable to recessions, which means risk. Third, New Jersey-based AI infrastructure company CoreWeave lowered its outlook. Cramer also addressed OpenAI Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar’s comments last week, in which she supported government backstops for data center increases and other AI infrastructure, which he called “confused.” AMD stock is currently up 11% from its October 29 high. Nvidia is down 9% from its October 29 high. Broadcom is down 9% from its October 29 high. Intel is up 11% from its October 28 high. Kramer still calls it the best story he’s told in years, but he’s having second thoughts. Hear more about AI trading with Frank Holland on Worldwide Exchange starting at 5am. Don’t miss a minute. AMD Advanced Micro Devices CEO Lisa Su will be joining Becky Quick, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Joe Kernen live on Squawk Box starting at 8am. Details about Hsu’s investments in AI and its position as one of the industry’s smartest and most successful companies will be a major topic of discussion Wednesday morning. The stock took a hit, falling 2.7% on Tuesday, but is up 10.5% in the month. AMD is up 38% in three months, double the VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH), which is up 20% in three months. AMD stock has nearly doubled so far this year. AMD YTD Mountain Advanced Micro Devices YTD Stock Chevron Chevron CEO Michael Wirth joins “Squawk Box” Wednesday morning at 7am. The stock is up 2% in a week and is up 11% from its 52-week high in October. CVX YTD Mountain Chevron Stocks Year-to-date Cannabis Stocks CNBC’s Brandon Gomez reports on the potential impact of new Congressional regulations on the cannabis industry. Grow Generation is up 2% from its December high and is up 21% in one week. Tilray Brands is up 2% from its October high, but its stock price is just $1.29 a share. Trulieve is up 30% from its August high and is up 5% in one week.
