This significant change will result in the United States withdrawing from major forums focused on climate change, peace, and democracy.

The Trump administration announced that it would withdraw the United States from 66 international organizations, including 31 UN agencies and 35 non-UN organizations.
Many focus on climate, labor, immigration, and other issues that the Trump administration has labeled as “contrary to American interests” in response to diversity and “woke” initiatives.
According to the White House, here is a list of all government agencies the United States will withdraw:
31 UN agencies
Department of Economic and Social Affairs United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) – Economic Commission for Africa ECOSOC – Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean ECOSOC – Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific ECOSOC – Economic and Social Commission for West Asia International Law Commission International Residency Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals International Trade Center Office of the Special Counsel for Africa Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Children in Armed Conflict Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflicts Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children Peacebuilding Commission Peacebuilding Fund Permanent Forum on People of African Descent United Nations Alliance of Civilizations United Nations Cooperation Program on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries United Nations Conference on Trade and Development United Nations Democracy Fund United Nations Energy United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) United Nations Human Settlements Program United Nations Training and Research Agency United Nations Oceans United Nations Population Fund United Nations Register of Conventional Arms United Nations System Chief Executives Coordination Committee United Nations System Staff College United Nations Water United Nations University.
In the new memorandum, the administration will look beyond the Paris Agreement to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) itself, the 1992 cornerstone treaty on which the Paris Agreement is based. By withdrawing from the UNFCCC, the regime aims to withdraw from the entire international framework for climate change negotiations.
Withdrawing from the UNFCCC is particularly important because it is a treaty ratified by the Senate. The administration’s ability to unilaterally withdraw from such treaties is expected to face legal challenges.

Notably, the United States remains a member state of the United Nations Security Council, the World Food Program (WFP), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which the administration recognizes as performing essential security or humanitarian functions.
