At the presentation of the new season 3 of the Netflix series “Bridgerton” to be held on May 14, 2024, the letters “Netflix” will shine brightly.

your Netflix Subscription prices are a little higher.

The streaming giant adjusted its pricing structure on Thursday, increasing all subscription tiers by at least $1.

The company’s ad-supported plans are now $8.99 per month, up from $7.99. The standard plan is now $19.99 per month, up from $17.99. Premium plan is now $26.99, up from $24.99. Prices for additional memberships have also increased, with ad-supported plans now costing $5.99 to $6.99 per additional non-household user, and ad-free add-ons costing $8.99 to $9.99 per additional non-household user.

The price increase comes as Netflix is making significant investments in content, including new ventures into the live events space and video podcasts. The company last raised prices in January 2025.

Netflix executives have long defended price hikes by touting the amount of content available on the platform and how subscription fees can be used to invest in new projects. The company said in its January earnings call that it expects to spend $20 billion on content in 2026, up from $18 billion in 2025.

Netflix said at the time that it expected total revenue in 2026 to be in the range of $50.7 billion to $51.7 billion, due to growth in membership and fees, as well as “ad revenue expected to approximately double in 2026” compared to the previous year.

At the time, Netflix was still poised to acquire the Warner Bros. studio and its streaming service HBO Max, but the company declined to accept a higher bid made by Paramount in February.

Many major streamers have raised prices in recent years in pursuit of profitability that is difficult for subscription businesses to reach.
