According to Sky Sports News, West Ham are expected to retain Nuno Espirito Santo as manager for now.

This is despite growing concerns within the club over their recent performance following a 10-game winless run and defeats to relegation rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest.

Tuesday night’s performance in the 2-1 home defeat to Forest was seen as an improvement and a positive response to Saturday’s 3-0 loss to bottom-of-the-table Wolves.

A discussion is expected to take place between the leaders on Wednesday, with Sky Sports News reporting that it is likely to focus on transfers rather than Nuno’s position.

West Ham have embarked on a transfer strategy to support the Portuguese, which includes looking to sign a target player. They already signed two new strikers in Pablo and Tati Castellanos last week for around £50m.

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo says the club needs to bring in more players, despite having already made two signings in January.

Pablo is represented by the same agency as Nuno, Jorge Mendes’ Gestifte, and the head coach and Mendes have previously worked with another key target, Fulham winger Adama Traore.

West Ham’s next 5 games:

January 11: QPR (H) January 17: Tottenham Hotspur (A) January 24: Sunderland (H) January 31: Chelsea (A) February 7: Burnley (A)
