Iran-linked hackers have publicly claimed to have compromised FBI Director Kash Patel’s personal inbox and published a photo of the director and what is believed to be his resume on the internet.

“Patel’s name will be found among the list of victims who were successfully hacked,” hacker organization Handara Hack Team said on its website.

Reuters could not immediately verify the emails released by Hanadara, but a sample of the material uploaded by the hackers and reviewed by Reuters appears to show a mix of personal and professional communications from 2010 to 2019.

A Justice Department official confirmed to Reuters that Patel’s emails had been compromised, but did not go into details. The FBI did not respond to requests for comment. The hacker did not immediately respond to the message.
