As Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, WWDC 2026, approaches, excitement is building to see what Apple has in store for us this year. From the Siri overhaul to the new Apple Intelligence update, there’s a lot to look forward to.

The annual Worldwide Developers Conference begins Monday at 10am PT/1pm ET. For those who wish to attend, the event will be livestreamed through the Apple Developer app, Apple’s website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel.

Siri’s AI shake-up

The most anticipated announcement is a major upgrade to Siri’s AI, turning Siri into a more conversational assistant that understands context, handles multi-step tasks, and can interact more naturally across apps and services. The revamped Siri leverages Google’s Gemini technology to enhance its functionality.

Additionally, a recent leak from Bloomberg reveals a standalone Siri app aimed at competing with advanced AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Apple could also introduce features reminiscent of its messaging apps, allowing users to set timers to automatically delete conversations after 30 days, a year, or keep them indefinitely.

AI agent app store

According to The Information, Apple plans to introduce AI agent integration with its app store. Details are unclear, but agents will allow users to delegate tasks such as booking appointments, managing daily tasks, editing documents, and controlling smart home devices.

camera and photo app

A new ‘Visual Intelligence’ section will be introduced within the camera app, replacing the previous Visual Intelligence feature located on the camera control button. This upgrade introduces a dedicated Siri mode next to options like Photo, Video, Portrait, and Panorama. The Visual Intelligence feature leverages Google Image Search to accurately identify objects captured by users.

Additionally, the Photos app will receive exciting enhancements from Apple Intelligence. These include intelligent scene recommendations to optimize photos, automatic object removal to clean up images, and an innovative AI photo editing feature that allows users to request edits simply by using visionOS’ new natural language.ng productivity features.

Image Playground Update

Apple plans to upgrade the Image Playground app to bring higher quality image generation, more artistic style, better character consistency, and richer editing controls. The interface for creating new images is simplified, with fewer controls and a “Describe Changes” option for editing.

Additionally, you may see a Genmoji feature that suggests custom emojis based on your media and text interactions. Users can also generate AI wallpapers that reflect different themes and moods.

apple wallet

Notable updates are rumored to be coming to the Wallet app, most notably a new bill-splitting feature that will simplify sharing spending between friends and family. Users will be able to take photos of receipts and easily create payment requests to various parties.

In addition to this, the Wallet app also includes a “Create Pass” option that allows users to generate digital passes from physical items such as movie tickets, concert passes, and gym membership cards.

Updates for MacOS, iPadOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS

Apple is expected to enhance the AI-powered Siri experience across its devices, as well as include more AI features and stability updates.
