As the Nasdaq Composite Index jumps to its best trading day since Aug. 4, CNBC TV producers take a look at what they’ve been watching and what they’re eyeing next. Kevin Warsh of Jackson Hole, Wyoming Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh will speak at 10 a.m. ET. CNBC will begin pregame at 5 a.m. with “Wake Up Call” and run through “Squawk Box” and “Squawk on the Street.” CNBC economic reporter Steve Reisman is in Jackson Hole and will provide full coverage. All parts of the stock market will be waiting for the news. Index Heading into the big day, the S&P 500 is down 1.1% from its highs reached earlier this month. Up 12.9% year to date in 2026. The Nasdaq Composite Index is up 14.2% since the beginning of the year. It has fallen 1.8% from June’s peak. The Nasdaq 100 is up 17.4% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 3.6% from its June 3 high. The Russell 2000 is up 21.5% in 2026. The small-cap benchmark is down 1.8% from this month’s high. The NYSE Composite is up 12% since the beginning of the year. It is down less than 1% from last week’s high. 2026 Bond Market .NDX YTD Mountain Nasdaq 100 The yield on the 30-year US Treasury note was 5.193% on Thursday night. The yield on 10-year government bonds is 4.676%. The yield on two-year government bonds is 4.234%. The yield on three-month Treasury bills is 3.776%. The iShares iBoxx High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) had a dividend of 5.87% on Thursday night. State Street SPDR Bloomberg High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) pays a dividend of 6.59%. iShares 0-5 Year High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (SHYG) has a dividend of 6.98%. The Fidelity Corporate Bond ETF (FCOR) has a dividend yield of 4.65%. CrowdStrike Cybersecurity stocks rose 20.5% on Thursday after Wednesday’s earnings report. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz appeared on “Mad Money” Thursday night with Jim Cramer. “The realization that AI criminals are here has arrived, and that’s driving momentum,” he said. SentinelOne reported Thursday evening. The stock fell about 4% in after-hours as the guidance was not as strong as many had expected. Cybersecurity ETFs rose significantly during the session, with the Global X Cybersecurity ETF (BUG) up 10% and the Amplify Cybersecurity ETF (HACK) up 8%. Effective September 1, Tim Cook will step down and John Tarnas will take over the reins. The stock is down 8.7% from its July 29 high. The stock is up 15.7% since the beginning of the year. Mr. Cook became CEO in August 2011. Since then, the stock is up 2,240%. Beef CNBC’s Pippa Stevens reports on the beef business amid soaring prices. She explains why prices are so high and how investors can profit. Gap stock rose 15% in after-hours after a mixed quarterly report. Gap also announced a new CEO for Old Navy. The stock is still down about 30% from its February high.
