Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Thursday that the company will double the number of chips it sells next year.

This is NVIDIA’s latest forecast, which suggests continued strong growth over the next six quarters, and comes just after the company revealed it expects to grow 70%, or about $673 billion, in the fiscal year ending in January 2028, sending analyst expectations soaring.

“Next year we expect Nvidia to sell twice as many chips as this year,” Huang told the media at a summit with Britain’s King Charles III in Scotland. “The reason is that AI has contributed tremendously to the interests of different industries, different economies, and we see that in almost every country we are in, people want to invest in AI.”

Nvidia has not disclosed the total number of chips it will sell. The company’s best-known products are data center graphics processing units (GPUs) such as Blackwell chips and Rubin chips. Last fall, Huang said Nvidia shipped 6 million Blackwell GPUs in four quarters.

But in addition to GPUs, Nvidia makes a variety of semiconductors, including central processors (CPUs), switch chips, chips for optical networks, chips for laptops, Jetson chips for robots and cars, and the chips inside Nintendo’s Switch 2 gaming console.

Mr. Huang attended the summit along with representatives from various countries. google deep mind, OpenAIand humanwho was in the UK to discuss AI safety, a topic he has repeatedly raised in recent weeks.

Public debate over the risks to humanity is reaching a fever pitch after AI researchers warned that humans can no longer control cutting-edge artificial intelligence.

“If a product is not safe, we should refrain from developing it and continue developing it,” Huang said.
