Check out the companies making the biggest pre-market moves: Metaplatform — The hyperscaler fell 3% in pre-market trading after rising nearly 13% last week amid a series of announcements about its personal AI agent Muse. Monday’s decline in the meta came on the heels of a broad sell-off in stocks related to AI trading. NEWMONT — Gold miners fell more than 4% as precious metal prices fell 3%. Rising global bond yields, with the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield above 5.2%, are dampening demand for non-interest-bearing assets. Energy stocks — U.S. crude oil prices rose more than 4% to more than $96 per barrel, and energy company stocks rose. Occidental Petroleum and ConocoPhillips each rose 2%, while Exxon Mobil and Chevron both rose 1.5%. Airlines – Rising oil prices pushed shares of major airliners lower as investors digested the impact on jet fuel costs. United Airlines and American Airlines each fell more than 2%, while Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines both fell more than 1.5%. Nvidia — Chipmakers were generally lower after tech stocks fell earlier in the week, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) down about 2%, but Nvidia outperformed, rising 1.5%. The company on Monday announced new AI safety software and a $150 billion increase in its stock repurchase program. Other chipmakers such as Marvell Technology and Advanced Micro Devices started the week down 2%.
