President Donald Trump said Monday that he is “not happy” with Kimberly Guilfoyle and is considering whether to remove her as U.S. ambassador to Greece.

President Trump made the comments at the White House in response to a series of critical articles in the Wall Street Journal regarding Mr. Gilfoley’s conduct before and after his appointment as ambassador.

When asked by a reporter if he was considering firing Gilfolie, President Trump replied, “Yes, I am considering it.”

“Well, we’re not satisfied,” the president said.

Guilfoyle was previously engaged to President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. After the couple broke up, the president appointed the former Fox News personality as his ambassador.

CNBC has reached out to Guilfoyle’s lawyer for comment on Trump’s remarks.

On September 25th, the newspaper published an article with the headline, “Mysterious man tailing Kimberly Guilfoyle as she drives deals across Europe.”

The article details Mr. Guilfoyle’s efforts to get U.S. allies in Eastern Europe to buy billions of dollars in U.S. natural gas.

According to the article, Guilfoyle told his targets that they should do business with a Greek construction company called Actor Group, which had entered the gas business by partnering with a Greek government-backed energy company to bring in liquefied natural gas from the United States.

The article details how Guilfoyle frequently traveled with Christos Malafatsos, Actor’s top lobbyist, who “accompanied him to meetings at the ambassador’s residence and with government officials from surrounding countries, highly unusual behavior for a private citizen.”

On October 7, the Journal published an article detailing how Guilfoyle allegedly asked President Trump donor Eric Deters to pay him $100,000 in July 2025, claiming it was an American Express invoice, before his ambassadorial confirmation hearing in the Senate.

Ms. Guilfoyle’s attorney told the newspaper that Ms. Deters owes her the balance for “travel and support” to events where she was hired to speak.

On Saturday, the Journal published another article saying that during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in January 2026, she “bragged about her close relationships with two major Greek businessmen and said they were funding her expensive trip around the world.”

In a statement Sunday, Ms. Guilfoyle’s lawyers “denied any wrongdoing and argued that the money she sought from Mr. Trump’s donors was for public appearances, speaking engagements and other services that predate her appointment as ambassador and has not been paid,” the Associated Press reported.

“The lawyers also deny allegations of wrongdoing related to Ms. Guilfoyle’s private jet travel, saying that on each such trip she ‘sought, obtained and followed guidance from the State Department and complied with the department’s travel regulations,'” the Associated Press reported, citing the statement.
