Healthcare providers ETF hits two-year high before turning red

The iShares US Healthcare Providers ETF (IHF) hit its highest level since Sept. 2024 before pulling back.

It was up more than 2% at the high and was last up nearly 1%.

Leading the initial way higher was Veeva Systems, which was up 3%. Healthcare technology platform company HealthStream was up 1% too. Both hit new all-time highs, and remained in the green even as the broader ETF turned negative.

Adobe gets downgraded by HSBC

HSBC downgraded software maker Adobe on concerns that “vibe-coded clones” of its products, aided by AI, may dent its sales.

Analyst Stephen Bersey at HSBC said he was cutting his adjusted EPS estimates by between 1% and 2% “to reflect risks that some amateur retail users may migrate out of Adobe.”

“ArtCraft (apparently a firm of just a few people) has released what we believe to be an ‘auto-coded’ free open source clone of Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite, including versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, Acrobat, After Effects, and InDesign. ArtCraft said it hopes to reach ‘100% feature parity’ with Adobe’s software within a month,” Bersey wrote.

The bank lowered its price target to $267 from $310, which still implies upside of 10%.

Piper Sandler upgrades VF Corp to overweight from neutral

Shoes are seen for sale at a Vans store, a brand owned by VF Corporation, in Manhattan, New York City, U.S., May 20, 2022.

Andrew Kelly | Reuters

Piper Sandler upgraded VF Corp to overweight from neutral on Tuesday.

Piper Sandler’s Fall Teen Survey of about 9,000 respondents found Vans ranked as a top footwear for male consumers.

“As a favorite footwear brand for all males (vast majority of customer base), Vans maintained its #7 spot vs. declining the past three surveys; for upper income guy, the brand moved up one spot,” analyst Anna Andreeva wrote in a note to clients.

Vans web traffic performance for the fiscal second quarter of 2027 was strong while foot traffic signaled to be positive, she said. Andreeva also raised her target to $20 from $16, implying 26.7% upside from Monday’s close.

Investor Paul Tudor Jones delivers a bearish roar on the market

Paul Tudor Jones, founder and chief investment officer of Tudor Investment, speaks with CNBC’s Squawk Box on Oct. 13th, 2026.

CNBC

Famous investor Paul Tudor Jones delivered some bearish pronouncements on market conditions in a Tuesday interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

He compared current conditions to the period just before the dot com bubble popped in the early 2000s, tracing the similarities to increasingly debt-financed capital investments powering the artificial intelligence buildout and global sovereign debt levels.

He said that 2027 is going to be a very challenging year for the stock market and that he’ll be short for the duration. He also sees oil prices rising between $20 and $25 dollars from their current levels.

“I’ll be short the whole year. There just — there’s little value,” Jones said. “You had all this issuance, all these IPOs in 98 and 99, and really 2000, 2001, 2002. Those were the easiest years to be short because you kept having these unlocks that just kept adding supply to the market.”

Jones added that he expects another federal bailout to follow the crash he is anticipating.

“We’re never going to fix these deficits until the market makes us to. It’s going to be just like 2008 and TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program). So that’s the reality. No politician is going to voluntarily raise taxes or cut spending. They’re going to be forced to. And the only question is, are we now at that tipping point where the market’s about to do that? And if you put a gun to my head, I’d say 60-40, we’re down that path.”

Domino’s Pizza announced results for the third quarter of 2026 on Tuesday, reporting higher third-quarter profit, even as sales growth slowed in the U.S. and international markets.

The pizza chain posted revenue of $1.19 billion, up 3.4% from a year earlier, driven by higher supply chain revenue and global franchise royalties.

Its global retail sales rose 3.2%, slowing from 6.3% a year earlier. U.S. same-store sales increased just 0.3%, compared with 5.2% a year ago, while international same-store sales growth slowed to 0.2% from 1.7%, excluding currency fluctuations.

Net income rose to $152.2 million, or $4.60 per share, from $139.3 million, or $4.08 per share, a year earlier. The result is the first earnings report under new CEO Joe Jordan, who succeeded Russell Weiner earlier this month.

“Our opportunity now is to capitalize on those strengths by getting even closer to our customers, helping our franchisees grow their profitability and turning our best performance into our everyday performance,” Jordan said.

Treasury yields pull back

Treasury yields moved lower as investors look ahead to key economic data releases this week, including the latest U.S. inflation print.

The 10-year Treasury note yield — the main benchmark for mortgages, auto loans, and credit card debt — fell more than 5 basis points to 5.1937%.

The yield on longer-dated 30-year U.S. Treasurys — which tend to move on geopolitical events — was down 4 basis points at 5.5580%.

The yield on the 2-year Treasury note, which more closely follows short-term Federal Reserve rate decisions, fell more than 2 basis points to 4.7658%.

LMVH broadly flat as demand for fashion and leather goods decline

Luxury goods giant LVMH was trading just below the flatline shortly after the opening bell as organic sales declined in fashion and leather goods in its third quarter amid a slowdown in demand from China.

The Louis Vuitton and Dior owner posted 57.1 billion euros ($63.9 billion) in revenue in the first nine months of 2026. The company saw weakness in its fashion and leather goods offering, with organic sales down 5% year-on-year.

The company’s shares were trading just below the flatline shortly after the opening bell and are down 41% since the beginning of the year. The decline weighed on the broader luxury sector, with Kering and Richemont shares also trading lower.

The company said organic revenue growth in its third quarter reflected a “less buoyant environment in China,” while the U.S., Europe and Japan saw good growth.

“The problem is fashion and leather is about 75% of the operating profit (for LVMH), so that’s really what counts, and the numbers are not good, and it doesn’t seem to be looking great for the other peers,” AIR Capital’s Head of Research Pierre-Olivier Essig said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe,” on Tuesday.

Essig added that the brand is “lost in translation” when it comes to appealing to the younger generations.

“These Gen A, Gen Z, they’re different. They’re not going to wait 10 years for a bag or a watch. They want it now. They’re very well informed,” he said.

Luxury stocks mixed after LVMH earnings

Abdul Saboor | Reuters

European luxury stocks fell in early trading after French conglomerate LVMH posted weaker-than-expected earnings after the bell on Monday.

Paris-listed shares of the company were 0.3% lower in early trading. Shares of Switzerland’s Richemont were 0.8% lower, while Gucci owner Kering fell 0.4%. Burberry, Moncler and Brunello Cucinelli were all higher.

LVMH reported worse-than-expected organic sales growth in its third quarter earnings on Monday, with weak Chinese demand damaging performance in its leather and fashion brands.

“As the first luxury company to report 3Q26, LVMH’s Fashion & Leather miss is unlikely to improve sentiment towards soft luxury,” Citi analysts said in a Monday evening note.

Deutsche Bank’s Adam Cochrane said in a note that LVMH had “managed to miss relatively weak investor expectations.”

“Despite the stock trading at near an all-time low valuation … it is hard to see what could change investor sentiment in the short term,” he said, but he noted that his team sees LVMH’s performance as a “cyclical rather than structural problem” with “the risk/reward weighted to the upside.”
