Meta brings Pocket, an app that lets you create vibe codes and share games, to users in the US

Pocket, Meta’s experimental vibecoding game app, is now open to everyone in the United States. The app, which quietly debuted on a test market in Brazil last month, uses AI prompts to generate small, interactive games that are published in a scrollable feed.

Building on Meta’s acquisition of the team behind vibe-coded gaming platform Gizmo earlier this year, these games (or “gizmos” as they’re called) can respond to touch or tilt of your phone, play sound effects, and include clips of your favorite songs.

You can also use photos from your camera roll and access your camera. The resulting game can be shared on your profile, allowing others to save it, remix it into other works, or simply repost it.

The app is the latest example of Meta’s efforts to bring AI creation tools mainstream, following previous efforts to create AI-generated images with the Meta AI app and create AI videos with an experimental app called Vibes.

Pocket has joined these and several other standalone mobile applications from Meta in recent months. CEO Mark Zuckerberg credits the increased production of AI-enabled software development with helping the company test and ship new ideas faster.

“Earlier this year, we shipped Instagram Instants. We also just launched Forum, a standalone group app, and Seller, a standalone Marketplace app. We expect shipping new apps to be much easier,” he told analysts on an earnings call in July. “So we plan to use the recommendation system to build on even more ideas and extend them.”

In addition to its Instants, Forum, and Seller apps, Meta has released experiments with AI bedtime stories, and this week released the Meta AI app for Mac.
