Instinct, the buzzy new AI assistant currently valued at $2.5 billion, is rolling out new features that allow it to do more for you. It’s about giving everyone an Instinct email address.

The new email address will allow agents to create and run their own accounts without cluttering users’ inboxes, company founder Noah Singh said Tuesday.

The idea, Shinn said, is to allow Instinct to handle account sign-up and management as needed to complete tasks that require email, such as creating accounts on various services, contacting companies, and following up on things that need attention.

“For example, Instinct can use its own email to contact restaurants about special requests, ask businesses about availability, or sign up for services needed to complete tasks,” Shinn wrote to X.

Give Instinct access to more tools. Starting today, your Instinct will have its own email address. This is the first step towards allowing Instinct to own and run its own account.

This feature could help make the Instinct user experience more seamless, as users do not need to log in or enter credentials. (Instinct partnered with 1Password on the latter last week).

But for businesses looking to establish relationships with their customers, letting AI manage their accounts can obscure who they’re actually doing business with. However, customers may consider this a perk. Many people these days are tired of having to submit their email or phone number just to complete simple or one-off tasks.

Instinct says it is reserving some email addresses for early users and that others can get theirs at mail.instinct.com.

Shinn suggested that users can now forward emails to Instinct if they need specific information to complete a task. For example, if you want Instinct to process a product return on your behalf, you can forward your order confirmation to Instinct’s email address. Instinct will then contact support, provide your order details, ask if you would like to return or exchange it, and come back with a return label to print.

Instinct’s emails can also be added to group threads, so you can track information exchanged or even send long threads where users need to ask what decisions still need to be made, when which tasks are due, or other questions.

The bot checks back in with the user if it requires user input, but otherwise operates autonomously.

This feature is one of several recent updates aimed at improving Instinct. This follows a recent partnership with 1Password that allows users to log in to their existing accounts, as well as a new location sharing feature that allows Instinct to know your current location, helping you find nearby businesses and restaurants, map routes and itineraries, and more. Users can also ask questions about their location history, such as where they’ve parked their car or what restaurants they’ve tried in the last month.

Instinct also partnered with Stripe in August to provide a more seamless payment experience, allowing agents to book travel, classes, reservations, make purchases, and more.
