I’ve spent my career thinking about how weather works, how we talk about it, and how it shows up in people’s lives. Most days I just glance at it and move on. It may also be the reason you change your plans or worry about the ever-changing 10-day weather forecast.

There’s a lot going on behind that prediction. Why does the pattern change? How do we know what we know? And what does that mean beyond the next few days? We’ll explore these questions in our new CNN Weather Newsletter, launching on Tuesday, April 28th.

The forecast is just beginning. We bring you expert coverage and the stories behind the weather. So you always know more than just the numbers. Sign up for newsletter

This is not a day-to-day look back at the highs and lows, or a rush to follow every star system on the map. Instead, it’s a look at weather and climate through the people and ideas that shape how we understand them, slowing things down just enough to add context, clarity, and perspective.

That might mean looking deeper into one story, a perspective on changing weather, or a message from colleagues around the world that we often miss in the daily hustle and bustle. You’ll recognize voices like Andrew Friedman, Maggie Kors, and Bill Weir. Each approaches the atmosphere from a slightly different angle and answers (or asks) different types of questions.

Not all newsletters follow the same format, but this is by design. Each edition reflects the voices and perspectives of its authors. I’m here to guide you, connect ideas, and explain why certain stories are worth your attention.

If you’re interested in the wonders of weather, this newsletter is for you. Sign up and join us to exceed expectations.
