Two helicopters collided over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning and crashed in the west of the city, killing all six people on board, fire officials said.
Rio de Janeiro’s military fire department said a helicopter crashed into the parking lot of a car dealership where several electric cars were parked, causing a fire that was extinguished.
Officials said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
Police said American singer and comedian Oliver Tree was on a list of passengers given to aviation authorities, but the bodies of those killed in the crash could not be identified.
Tree performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 4th, and on Saturday he posted a video of himself playing soccer in a Brazilian neighborhood on his Instagram.
According to Argentine streaming channel Blender, one of the helicopters was carrying content creator Gaspar Prim Díaz, also known as Gaspi.
Gaspi had more than 2.8 million followers on YouTube and was 23 years old.
“Thank you for your art, your magic, and your sensitivity. We all miss you,” Blender said on his X account.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
