President Donald Trump on Saturday offered UFC President and CEO Dana White the job of press secretary.
The president said in a post on Truth Social that the offer also extends to White’s assistants, “although some of them are not from our country.”
“We need people to protect us from the crazy left,” Trump wrote. “Dana will be a unique press secretary. Dana, please accept the job!”
Apparently in response to Trump’s post, White posted a photo on his Instagram Stories of himself standing behind the White House press secretary’s podium with the words “Next Chapter” written on it. It is unclear whether White accepted the position or simply accepted the president’s request in jest.
In October, White House Press Secretary Katie Zachariah resigned just five days after her term as Carole Levitt’s successor began.
The president’s appeal to White comes after it was announced on Friday that Trump’s chief of staff, Stephen Miller, would be promoted to chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles.
The White House and UFC did not respond to requests for comment.
