Luke Littler’s remarkable 2025 continued with an 11-8 win over Nathan Aspinall in the final of the Players Championship Final in Minehead.

With the win, the 18-year-old world No. 1 claimed his sixth major ranking title of the year and added his first Players Championship Final crown to his ever-growing trophy collection.

Littler has now won eight of the 10 PDC majors, leaving him with only the European Championships and the World Masters to become the first player in history to do so.

Littler reached the highlight of the tournament with an 11-8 win over Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals, while Aspinall secured his spot with an 11-2 victory over Jermaine Wattimena in the fourth round.

In the final, Littler quickly took the lead and took a 5-2 lead, but Aspinall continued to threaten, scoring a 127 checkout with a stunning counterattack and closing in on world No. 1 with 9 wins and 8 losses.

But Littler kept his cool and hit a checkout of 88 to win the title.

Littler: Just two more.

Littler told ITV Sport: “It wasn’t easy to get to this final, but I’m proud to have crossed it off my list. There are only two more (European Championships and World Masters) left (to win it all).”

“I know I played great throughout the tournament and I’m glad I got the job done. Early in my career I was just being myself, but now I’m starting to let out a little more emotion and it’s paying off.

“I’m very proud to lift this trophy. All eyes are now on the big trophy at the World Championships.”

Aspinall: I’m back where I belong.

Aspinall told ITV Sport: “It was a great tournament. I’m back in the top 16 where I belong and that was my big goal going into the weekend.”

“We always have great support here at Minehead and I have to congratulate Luke, he’s been fantastic.

“As we all know, he’s a good mate of mine. What he did in this match was incredible. I was happy to share the stage with him tonight.”

How the semi-finals will unfold

Littler defeated Gerwyn Price 11-8 in the semi-finals.

Littler advanced to the final with a 10-5 win over Chris Doby in the last eight on Sunday afternoon.

The 18-year-old posted a high points per game average of almost 108 and hit a nine-time high while seeing off fifth-seeded Dobie. Dobie disappeared in the latter stages due to yet another heavy scoring and clinical finish from the world champion.

The encounter with Price continued in the semi-finals after the Welshman won 10-6 over Darryl Gurney.

Littler took a commanding 5-2 lead, but Price responded with a 114 checkout to keep the pressure on and cut the gap to 7-6 in an entertaining battle.

The world number one ultimately dominated the contest, finishing with an average of 108.48 points and qualifying for the final.

Aspinall held off a strong fightback from Josh Locke to race into the quarter-finals with a 5-1 lead, winning 10-8 until the Northern Irishman equalized at 8-8.

He then advanced to the final with a resounding victory, including a 10-dart leg over Watimena to take a 5-1 lead.

Before the Players Championship final, Jan van Veen defended his World Youth Championship title with a 6-3 victory over Beau Greaves.
