Jake Paul is set to “shock the world” and “spark the biggest upset in the history of the sport” when he takes on former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, who has a 12-1 professional record and defeated former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his last fight in June, will face Joshua in eight rounds on Friday.
“One of us is going to sleep. That’s what we’re trying to do here. That’s what this heavyweight fight is all about,” the American said at public practice.

“I started my boxing journey here in Miami, and we’re going to take it back and shock the world and pull off the biggest upset in the history of the sport.”
“I was honored to be invited to America,” said Joshua, who held the unified world heavyweight title from 2017 to 2019 and from 2019 to 2021.
“Performing in front of great people, a crowd in Miami, a crowd all over the world. So I just said, ‘I’ve got to do it.’ You have to give him (Paul) credit because he’s ready.”

Will Joshua vs Fury happen in 2026?
It was announced earlier this week that talks were underway for a 2026 fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury, with Fury’s promoter Frank Warren telling Sky Sports News: “Nothing has been signed yet, but Tyson has made it clear that if it’s the right deal, he’ll do it.”
“I think it’s going in the right direction and I hope we get news soon about what’s going to happen. I believe it will happen.”
