Luke Littler has revealed that his life might have taken a different path if he hadn’t had corrective eye surgery as a child.

As a child, Littler was sent to Warrington Hospital to have his eyes misaligned, a condition commonly known as strabismus, to be corrected.

This was the surgery his parents wanted and it paid off as the teenager now has high magnification 20 vision and is the best darts player in the world.

Wayne Mardle and Glen Durant discuss whether anyone can stop Littler or Luke Humphries from reaching the World Darts Championship finals

Asked if things could have been different, he replied: “Well, who knows? That’s obviously one of the things that needed to be sorted out. My mom and dad wanted to sort it out.”

“But obviously, when I was younger, I didn’t really care. But when I think about it now, I’m glad I did it then, but now I don’t remember it. But obviously it had to be done. And it got done.”

Littler says he will be prepared for Mensur Suljovic’s slower tactics when they face him in the third round of the World Darts Championship.

“I think that was the last time I was there, so I sorted it out like I did when I was four or five years old.

“Obviously, vision is very important. I don’t really remember anything like that happening. I have a photo that my family put up for me. I was very tired at the time and obviously rested. But yeah, we’re all good now.”
