Liverpool goalkeeper Raffaella Borggrafe has been suspended for six games for using derogatory language towards a team-mate.

Manager Gareth Taylor confirmed ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against London Bees that Borggraeff had accepted the sanction.

The Football Association launched an investigation in September following the incident during a team photo shoot.

Borggrafe has already been suspended for five of the six games and will be suspended for the final match of the weekend.

“We have a little update on the situation with Rafa Borggraeff,” Taylor said.

“The FA have completed a thorough investigation and have handed the player a six-game ban, which continues while we play.”

“I think the situation is the situation. The team and the club took the appropriate action. We have been assisting the FA in their investigation.”

“I think it dragged on a little bit and I think it’s frustrating for everyone involved.

“We’re happy that it’s finished and that we know the details of what it will actually look like.”

Sky Sports News has contacted the FA for comment.
