“Everything is possible.”

Claudio Braga believes Hearts can become the first non-Old Firm club to be crowned Scottish Champions for more than 40 years.

The Jambos are six points clear of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic and Rangers ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Hoops, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Sunday, January 25th 2:30pm

Kickoff at 3pm

They have already managed to defeat the title holders both home and away, and Braga, who have been in the top spot virtually all season, insist they could still be there come May.

“The history of my life has shown me that anything is possible,” he told Sky Sports News.

“I never expected to come to a club like Hearts after playing in the Norwegian second division and achieving the results we did.

“That’s the answer, everything is possible.

“Just keep playing game by game and try to win the next game. That’s also very important.”

Hearts will be without a number of players for the top-flight clash, including leading scorer Lawrence Shankland, who will be out for six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.

The captain has scored 11 league goals so far, including nine for Braga, and will be hoping to fill the void left by Shankland.

“If it’s pressure to score, I’m happy with it,” added the 26-year-old.

Hearts head coach Derek McInnes has called on his players to ‘hit their direct opponents’ in the Premiership title race by defeating Celtic.

“I won’t be able to do my job and Shankland’s job, but for him in his position, I’ll do my best to partner with him as well.

“He is a very important person in the team, not only as a player but also as a person.

“We have a very big team, so it’s not just for rotation, but for when injuries happen, when the next guy needs to step up, and the guys that are playing need to step up a little bit more as well.”
