Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, Tino Libramento: Newcastle trio could leave in summer transfer window | Soccer News

There is hope at Newcastle that Anthony Gordon is keen on a move this summer.

The England international has emerged as a top target for Bayern Munich, with Arsenal also interested in him.

Gordon is one of a number of big-name players who could leave Newcastle this summer, with clubs in England and Europe circling the signings of Sandro Tonali and Tino Libramento.

The winger has not told Newcastle he wants to leave this summer, but the 25-year-old could be on the move if the Magpies receive a big offer. Liverpool were close to signing Gordon in the summer of 2024, but it remains to be seen whether interest in him will be renewed.

Newcastle are in a good position in negotiations with Tonali, who is under contract until 2029 with a one-year option, and Gordon, who is under contract until 2030.

In an ideal world, Newcastle would want to keep both Gordon and Tonali, but they have made no secret of the fact that they would need to be ‘traded’ this summer to allow the first team to rebuild their squad.

Take a look at some of the best parts of Sandro Tonali’s time at Newcastle United so far

Tonali has a list of suitors, with Manchester City interested in Livramento. The England full-back is Newcastle’s most pressing concern, with just two years left on his contract.

No players have formally asked to leave, but the general understanding is that one, two or all three could want a new challenge this summer.

Gordon is reportedly unfazed by his departure and is training and playing as a professional as always.

Analysis: The real possibility of Gordon leaving

Keith Downey, North East correspondent for Sky Sports News:

“Having been at Newcastle for over three seasons, there is a good chance that Gordon will leave this summer. The winger has developed into a regular for England since working under Eddie Howe and the prospect of no Champions League football would not be positive for Newcastle to keep him beyond the summer.”

“However, Newcastle paid the highest transfer fee in Premier League history when they sold Alexander Isak to Liverpool last summer, and if clubs make formal approaches to sign Gordon, they will likely ask for huge sums again.

“How much is a huge transfer fee? It’s probably double the £40m (+£5m) Newcastle paid him in 2023. They are in a good negotiating position. He still has four years left on his current contract.”

“He is also the third highest scorer in the Champions League this season, something that has been noticed on the continent.

“I hear Gordon is still conducting himself in a professional manner and keeping his head down for the final six games of the season.

“I think Newcastle fans can accept Gordon moving to Bayern Munich rather than their Premier League rivals.

“Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson recently told reporters that Newcastle may need to sell to buy a large stake this summer, and Gordon is one of the club’s best assets.”

“If Newcastle could raise around £75m to £80m to sign Gordon, it would give them more freedom in the market and welcome funds available to Howe (or a new manager).”
