Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions could provide the opponent for Katie Taylor’s final fight in Dublin’s Croke Park.
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) hosted the final two contests in Taylor’s epic trilogy with Amanda Serrano.
Olympic gold medalist and two-weight undisputed champion Taylor wants to box one more time before she retires, and MVP, who has one of the strongest squads in women’s boxing, could be the perfect match for Taylor’s enthusiasm.
Nakisa Bidalian, who co-founded MVP with social media influencer Paul, volunteered the services of Caroline Dubois for her “Last Dance” with Taylor. The winner of the WBA lightweight title fight between Holly Holm and Stephanie Hung may also fit that criteria.
“I could see a scenario where the winner of Holly and Stephanie takes on Katie Taylor in the final fight, and that’s very logical to me too,” Bidalian told Sky Sports.
Holm, now 44 years old, is not only a successful boxer, but is also world-famous as a UFC champion who defeated Ronda Rousey.
“Stephanie Hung is a great story, a mother, and a full-time police officer. Of course, she’s made more money in the last 12 months than anyone would have thought to be part of MVP, but her career and story are phenomenal,” Bidalian said.
Vidalian is hoping to work with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, which represents Taylor, to stage a Croke Park event for the Irish boxing superstar.
“The partnership with Matchroom is absolutely. I don’t want to overstep that relationship, because they’ve worked together throughout her entire career. To Katie’s credit, I think she’s always been loyal to them, contracted or not. And we want to respect that. It’s even greater when we do it together,” Bidalian said.
“If Eddie and I sat down together and came up with a plan for the Croke Park game, I’d love to do it together.”
Hearn ruled out Taylor boxing on the Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua undercard, which was also a contender for Croke Park.
“If[Fury vs. Joshua]happens in November, it won’t be outdoors in Dublin, so we just want to move forward with Katie Taylor,” Hearn told the Press Association.
“With all due respect, I don’t think this is the place for a fight[Fury vs. AJ]. And what’s absolutely more important than my dead body is that Katie Taylor is on the undercard in Croke Park.”
“We’ll know the details on Friday. We’re ready and we’re going to do it. We don’t necessarily have an opponent in mind, but in terms of cost and show management.
“Croke Park wants to do it, but when they said, ‘Fury vs. AJ will give Katie the opportunity to fight there,’ my blood boiled (I didn’t think so).”
