On September 27, British police arrested a 22-year-old British national on suspicion of terrorism in connection with a security incident near a Royal Air Force base where US military aircraft are stationed.
Counter-terrorism police said the person was linked to “activities that occurred near Fairford Air Force Base.”
Police said in a statement that the arrests were made on “suspects of preparing terrorist acts.”
National Counter Terrorism Police National Coordinator Vicki Evans said detectives “continue to carry out multiple investigations” and are “committed to investigating all angles”.

This is the seventh arrest in connection with the case in the past two weeks, but the case remains largely unsolved. All six people arrested on terrorism charges for allegedly plotting against the base were released on bail.
The United States removed B-52 and B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford on Sunday, but it is unclear whether the move is related to the latest arrests.
On Monday, President Trump said his administration had pulled B-1 bombers from the scene due to what it called “some threats.”
“We’ve had threats. If we get threatened, we just move them, and that de-escalates the situation,” he told reporters, adding that those making the threats “may have ties to Iran” without elaborating.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Britain saw “strong indications” that Iran was involved in the incident, but gave no details.
Iran denies involvement but has previously said it considers bases used to attack its territory to be legitimate targets.
